Great care has been taken to retain the Hydrean style and character of the house. House Aquata is on three levels with multiple outdoor spaces furnished stylishly for dining and relaxation. The property also includes a Mediterranean garden and a splendid top-floor veranda from which breath-taking views of Hydra and the Aegean can be enjoyed. The house is a nostalgic reflection of times gone by. House Aquata emits a sense of space with its wooden Hydrean high-ceilings, the Byzantine style antique travertine and the whitewashed wooden floors. Walls are painted in shades of vanilla, peach, lime green, lavender and light blue to match the carefully selected fabrics of the sofas and chairs, the antique furniture and contemporary paints. The space includes high-quality antiques, original art, French furniture and custom-designed beds and sofas for comfort and style. The interiors are elegant and sophisticated. All rooms are spacious and well-proportioned and are decorated in a light and airy style with a good mixture of antique and contemporary furniture. House Aquata includes four bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms and can comfortably host eight (8) people (couples or families). The ground floor is the main living space. The living room boasts a French antique fireplace and a formal dining area with an impressive chandelier and an antique dining table, comfortably seating eight (8). A wooden staircase leads to the top-floor which comprises of two rooms: a fully equipped office and the master bedroom. The master bedroom is furnished throughout with a handmade romantic four poster bed and a Hydrean style sofa for romance and relaxation. The fabulous en-suite bathroom is decorated with handmade marina antique style tiles and fixtures. Guests can enjoy spectacular views of the sea and the unique experience of the Hydrean sunset from both rooms and the top-floor veranda. The lower-ground floor includes three double bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom and king size bed. The bedrooms are beautifully furnished throughout with stylishly chosen antique furniture, paintings and art. The bathrooms are also decorated with handmade antique style tiles and fixtures. The courtyards and the garden are totally private with a 2.5m stonewall surrounding the property. The garden and parts of the courtyard are full of olive trees, oleanders, lemon trees, pomegranates, bougainvilleas and jasmines. When returning from the beach it is a pleasure to wash off sand and salt under the refreshing garden shower. There are three independent external sitting areas and a large hammock for guests to enjoy throughout the day. Outdoor cooking and dining is a must at this house.
