Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. Melsmere Lodge is a 2 bedroomed thatched cottage on the side of a private 1.5 acre lake and is surrounded by woodland and open countryside. The lake and woodland attract hundreds of species of birds and mammals. The lake itself is stocked with coarse fish. A little oasis of nature with easy links to local cities. Explore the wider Wirral area on the network of public footpaths or take a short train ride to the cities of Liverpool or Chester. The space The Lodge comprises a spacious lounge with solid timber floors, brick hearth, large comfortable sofas and a separate reading area. The kitchen includes a large range cooker, belfast sink, mahogany worktops and seating for 8 around the reclaimed butchers block table. 2 bedrooms, one King Size with Ensuite featuring a large shower enclosure and rainfall shower, the second comprises a double / single bunk bed and an included sink area. An ideal stay for 2 couples or for families with multiple children. The lounge also has a separate area with sofa bed allowing the lodge to sleep up to 7. The downstairs bathroom features a large cast iron bath, ideal for a relaxing soak and an overhead electric shower. The utility room features a washing machine, dishwasher a freezer and a large stainless steel sink. Guest access Lodge and lakeside gardens. The lakeside paths and bridges are currently under renovation to allow guests to safely access to the full perimeter. Until then guests have access to the large private gardens front and rear with views across the lake to the island. The lake is stocked with a variety of coarse fish, roach, rudd, bream, carp and some lovely perch up to 4lb. Please contact us separately to discuss the potential to fish the lake. Other things to note Melsmere is located over a gated railway level crossing, guests are required to telephone the signalman using the installed telephones and open the gates prior to crossing with vehicles. Don't worry, it's a quick, simple and safe procedure and it's the reason Melsmere is so undisturbed and private!
