Inside you’ll find a fully equipped galley kitchen with induction hob, fridge and microwave, plus a king-size memory foam bed, wood burner, oil-filled radiator, books and family games. Both bell tents offer king-size beds with luxury hybrid mattresses, additional memory foam single mattresses, atmospheric lighting, sari bunting and coir matting. All beds are made with Egyptian cotton linen, electric blankets and extra blankets for cosy nights under the stars. Spa-style bathroom: The separate Bathroom Shepherd’s Hut features a walk-in wet-room shower, Belfast sink, natural elm countertop and unlimited hot running water, creating a tranquil spa-like setting in the woods. Outdoor dining & BBQ: Enjoy al fresco meals on the raised dining deck built from a converted showman’s trailer. The retreat includes a 12-seater picnic table, outdoor fridge, preparation area and an Egg-style BBQ capable of grilling, smoking and cooking pizzas. Games & entertainment: Indoor and outdoor games include Croquet, Giant Jenga, Boules, Ping Pong, Limbo, Snakes & Ladders, Guess Who and Twister. Woodland experience: Relax around the woodland fire pit, unwind in the cargo-net hammock between the trees, or enjoy the slack line and outdoor beanbags surrounded by ancient woodland. Festoon lighting around the site creates a magical festival-style atmosphere after dark. There is private parking available on site, and unlimited Wi‑Fi is included throughout the retreat. Other things to note A peaceful countryside retreat Wyldewood Retreat is a quiet countryside escape designed for guests looking to relax, reconnect with family and friends, and enjoy the surrounding nature. Wyldewood Retreat is intended for peaceful countryside stays rather than loud parties or late-night gatherings. If you are looking for a venue for a loud party or late-night gathering, we are unlikely to be the right fit. We operate an 11pm noise curfew, which includes music, shouting and singing, and we ask all guests to respect the peaceful setting and neighbouring countryside. What’s included: We provide everything you need for a comfortable stay, including: Firewood, kindling and firelighters for the hot tub, log burner and fire pit One bag of charcoal, lighting fluid and firelighters for the BBQ Egyptian cotton bed linen One luxury white bath towel per guest Tea, coffee and milk You may wish to bring an additional towel for use around the hot tub, as towels can become quite wet. Hot tub If requested, we are happy to light the wood-fired hot tub before your arrival so that you can enjoy it as soon as you check in. Location Wyldewood Retreat is located in East Sussex within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), and in the foothills of the South Downs National Park. There are excellent walking and cycling routes directly from the site, and we provide a local Ordnance Survey map along with recommendations for some of our favourite nearby walks. Nearby attractions The beach is approximately 20 minutes away by car, with a wide range of water-based activities. Several excellent country pubs can be found nearby. Hastings and St Leonards-on-Sea are around 25 minutes away. Brighton and Hove is approximately 45 minutes away. Pets We are pet-friendly, so well-behaved dogs are welcome to join you during your stay. Getting here Polegate Railway Station is approximately 20 minutes away and has direct services to London Victoria. If you are driving, two designated parking spaces are available on site.
