Description

Nestled beside a peaceful meadow, this cosy hobbit-style retreat offers a unique off-grid escape through winter and early spring. Warm up by the fire, cook on the indoor BBQ, and unwind in the wood-fired hot tub filled with fresh filtered water — no bubbles, just natural warmth. With open views across the Ribble Valley towards Pendle Hill, it’s perfect for quiet nights, stargazing, and slowing down. The space The Hobbit Hut – A Peaceful Off-Grid Hideaway Tucked away at the bottom of a quiet meadow, with Pendle Hill watching over, the Hobbit Hut offers a truly magical off-grid escape. Stepping inside feels like entering another world, where a snug double bed, flickering fire indoor open fire creates a cosy, welcoming space. A pull-out bench suits extra adventurers, and an electric blanket is provided during colder months to keep you warm and comfortable. Beyond the round door, a wood-fired Baltic hot tub awaits beneath the stars, filled with fresh filtered water — no bubbles, just soothing steam and deep relaxation. By day, enjoy gentle walks, a game of outdoor chess, or simply slow down and take in the stillness around you. This is true hobbit living — simple, rustic and intentionally peaceful. There’s no kitchen or indoor shower, but a camping shower by the Gypsy Caravan (£5), or a flask of hot water for washing or tea, adds to the charm of the experience. You can choose our hot tub lighting service (£45, includes extra wood) for a perfectly warmed, atmospheric soak, or light it yourself for the full off-grid adventure. Extra wood is available (trolley £45, half builders bag £60, full £75) , or you’re welcome to bring your own kiln-dried logs. With soft solar lighting, a compost loo, drinking water nearby, and space for well-behaved dogs or cats (£25), everything you need is here — just slower, quieter, and closer to nature. Guest access If the host happens to be unavailable to greet you, don't worry! A key will be conveniently located right in the door. Get ready to explore the entire cozy hut, plus the charming adjacent hut equipped with a off grid composting toilet house. And that's not all—indulge in the amazing wood-burning hot tub and gather around the outdoor fire pit for an unforgettable time! The door will be open - please park at the top of the field and make your way down to the hut on foot - its a short two minute walk Other things to note 🌿 A True Outdoor Adventure Awaits! When you leave the doors open, you’re not just letting in the fresh Ribble Valley air — you’re inviting nature itself to visit. Expect the occasional curious guest from the wild and embrace the magic of outdoor living! 🛏️ The hut includes one double bed and one pull-out single bench, making it ideal for two guests. Extra guests can be accommodated on request but will need to use the pull-out bench (please bring your own sleeping bags). 🔥 The wood-fired hot tub takes around 2 hours to heat in summer and 3–4 hours in winter due to colder weather. You’ll need 4–5 bags of wood, or you can buy a trolley of logs from us for £45. ⚠️ Please note: the hut has open fires and limited indoor space, so it may not be suitable for young children under 5. The listing is therefore set for 2 adults only for safety and comfort.
