Large Georgian Country House

Belmont House is a grand house, built in 1835 with many of it's original features still intact. The rooms are very large and ornate with painted ceilings, gold elaborate cornicing and substantial marble fireplaces. You can easily imagine being on the set of a period drama as this home is regularly used as a film location. The house is surrounded on 3 sides by gardens with unobstructed views of the river Avon and water meadows with Salisbury's Cathedral spire in the distance. The space We are offering the perfect accommodation for a big family celebration, a couple of families wanting to get away from it all, or simply friends catching up. Belmont is a 3 story house facing the river Avon just on the outskirts of Salisbury. On the lower ground floor there is a large kitchen with a 4 oven aga and boot room leading out onto the terrace and spacious garden. On the middle floor there are 4 reception rooms, comprising of the formal drawing room with a stunning black marble open fireplace, 2 sitting rooms with televisions, one with a large log burner. Both of these rooms have ornate gold cornicing and painted ceilings. The dining room with log burner comfortably seats 12 and the spacious Morning Room with the elaborate white marble open fireplace and stunning gold cornicing is the perfect spot for wedding group prep/photos or a tranquil yoga room. The room with the pool table is also on this level. Upstairs there are 5 double bedrooms and 3 bathrooms (one ensuite) The lower ground level has the 6th bedroom which has a kingsized bed with ensuite. This bed can also be changed into 2 singles if this suits your group's dynamic better. Guest access Children are very welcome, but the old-fashioned staircase is not suited to fitting a stair gate and our house is not toddler proof. There are a lot stairs so can be tricky for those who may be visually or physically challenged. Other things to note Our three separate airbnbs - The Tiny House, Hut64 & the Brush Hut are available to book jointly without the main house if you only need accommodation for 6. If the main house is booked these airbnbs in the grounds are blocked.
