The Sweet Old Fashioned Room
The Sweet Old Fashioned Room
Description
This front bedroom is sunny, breezy and sweetly old fashioned. It has a comfortable queen size bed, a dresser, closet, 3 windows and vintage lights. You'll sleep like a baby. This room does not have a private bedroom so you'll be sharing the main upstairs bath with others. The space The Garden of Eden is a new adventure. I’m a traveler and frequent Airbnb guest, so I have lots of ideas about how to make a space fun, comfortable and social. I’m a huge fan of.building community and this house is already a part of village life. We are striving to bring this gorgeous old historic home as close to carbon neutral as possible. Repairs and upgrades are being made with a focus on preservation and energy efficiency. I’m moving to a solar and electric based heating system, and getting rid of fossil fuels. We are doing many environmental education programs with and for the local community. Guests are welcome to participate in any way they like. Guest access The Garden of Eden is designed to be a community of likeminded people; travelers and locals alike. We have an abundance of shared spaces in which you can relax and mingle with other guests and visitors. There is a large country kitchen for making meals, a screened porch, formal dining room, living room, music room with piano and guitar, front stoop, garden, and the giant backyard which has been rewilded. That space resembles a park and you can spot birds, bunnies, woodchucks and pollinators. During your stay I’m absolutely delighted to spend time getting to know you and always happy to share a meal. If I have time I’ll be happy to walk around the village with you or go for a bike ride. Of course you are always free to do your own thing and are under no obligation to socialize! Other things to note While this historic house is elegant and charming, it has not been modernized. I am now upgrading many systems at once to make it more comfortable, safe, beautiful, and energy efficient. This means you might find a room in the public space undergoing some construction or upgrade. We try very hard to keep repair work to a minimum when guests are around, but if you are bothered by any element of the construction just holler and I’ll do my best to fix it for you. I will also refund any unused nights of your stay if you decide to go elsewhere. We want you to be happy.
