A wonderful base to explore Derbyshire Dales and Peak District The space Hedgehog Cottage is a detached warm and cosy cottage that is perfectly situated to explore all the natural beauty that The Incredible Peak District and Derbyshire Dales has to offer. It is particularly suited to couples or families looking for an active and fun packed holiday break. Hedgehog Cottage is your home away from home with many of our guests coming back year after year as its become their second home too. It is located just 10 minutes walk from both ‘Matlock’ Town Centre to the North and ‘Matlock Bath’ to the South and offering the perfect choice for you to both relax and explore. Anyone seeking local eateries, pubs or shops, will find everything they want very close by. Numerous local walking and biking trails are accessible from around the cottage and with The Peak District National Park being only 6 miles way. The moment that you pull off the road and onto your own private driveway you can feel your self start to unwind and relax and this is what this home is all about. To make sure that our guests carbon footprint is kept to a minimum, Hedgehog cottage is partly powered by solar panels on the roof and this feeds the hot water, electric appliances and the Electric Vehicle Charge point that is located on the driveway for sole use of our guests. This 2 storey cottage is accessed by the side gravel pathway leading to the front door with a beautiful view of the iconic Riber Castle in the distance. It has been recently tastefully re-decorated and furnished throughout to appeal to our discerning guests, there is a living room with Freeview Smart TV & Netflix and with an Electric fire in the hearth. Free Wifi is also available to you. Leading off the Lounge is the small relaxing conservatory where guests can sit during the days and the nights with the door open onto the small private rear courtyard garden, read a book or enjoy a few glasses of wine. The neighbouring properties are close by but you never feel over looked as the whole area is a super safe and quiet neighbourhood. There is a well equipped kitchen offering a range of appliances Oven, Grill, Induction Hob, Microwave, Dishwasher and Washing Machine. Kettle and toaster are also provided for your use. All cutlery and cooking utensils are provided also. The large dining table is located to the right hand side of the kitchen and comfortably seats 4 people. Upstairs and there are 2 bedrooms on the front of the property; the master bedroom having a king sized bed, utterly comfy mattress and pillows, wardrobe, dressing table and 42” TV with Netflix available for those cosy nights in or lazy morning lye-ins. The 2nd Bedroom has a single or 2 single beds and built in wardrobe. The master bathroom offers a large walk-in shower with basin, heated towel rail and WC Smart TV in the lounge and in the master bedroom allow viewing of Netflix and prime from you own account settings. Guest access Private 2 car driveway with an EV Charging point for our guests sole use, current rate for charging 0.59p KWh Other things to note - Dogs are most welcome at an extra charge of £25 per stay per dog, we can accept 2 small dogs for £40, we would ask if a dog bed can be bought also as we don’t allow dogs to be sleeping on beds for the comfort of other guests and please don’t leave dogs unaccompanied in the cottage. Sorry, we can’t accept puppies or cats from 26/11 until 07/01 cottage will be decorated for Christmas
