Take it easy at this unique getaway. Located on Bayou Manchac on a gated 6 acre estate. The Blue Heron Guest House is a great place to just get away, enjoy nature, canoe (provided), fish the pond or the bayou, birdwatching (lots of birds), etc. The property does have a boat slip and a small boat launch for those who want to explore the area by boat. Bayou Manchac connects to the Amite River nearby. We can’t wait to share our paradise with you! It’s a 2 BR/ 1.5 bath 1000 square ft house. It has a full kitchen with a full size refrigerator. There’s a back deck with a table and chairs and propane BBQ pit. We have a king size bed and a queen size bed. We also have a queen size sofa couch and a full size air mattress. Guest will have access to the entire property except inside the fenced in yard around the main house. There is also no access to the chicken coop or the pool area. My wife and I live next door in the main house. We are available for anything you need. Please contact me by phone or come knock on the door. The house is located in Prairieville, which is just outside Baton Rouge. It feels like you’re in the country but everything you need is 10 minutes away. There are 2 grocery stores and several restaurants that serve Louisiana cooking right down the road. LSU Tiger Stadium and downtown Baton Rouge are only 30 minutes away. There are two fire pits on the property. One by the pond up front and one down by the bayou. Sometimes we have wood available but if not, the hardware store down the highway sells stacks. We also have disc golf available on the property. We have one portable basket and discs that guests can use. It’s a lot of fun!
