Luxury Log Cabin | Wrap-Around Porch & Rec Room
Description
Some places make you forget your phone exists. This is one of them. Tucked away in the Blue Ridge Mountains outside Marshall, NC, this genuine hand-hewn log cabin sits on nearly 5,000 square feet of private, secluded property — no traffic, no neighbors, no noise, no worries. Just open sky, mountain views, deer, wild turkey, and the kind of stillness that's genuinely hard to find. The property sustained zero damage from Hurricane Helene and is in perfect condition. The space At 4,725 square feet across two full levels, this is a cabin that lives like a lodge. With two complete living spaces, 4 bedrooms, and multiple indoor and outdoor gathering areas, 10 people can spend a week here and never feel crowded. Gather together or completely disappear from each other — depending on the mood. The décor leans full Appalachian hunting lodge — a collection of 8-9 taxidermy mounts on the main level, including an Alaskan elk, give the cabin an authentic character that photographs don't fully capture. These aren't props. They're trophies with stories. THE SPACE At 4,725 square feet across two full levels, this is a cabin that lives like a lodge. THE MAIN FLOOR Step inside to a soaring vaulted great room where knotty pine covers every surface — walls, ceilings, doors — giving the space a warm, immersive lodge feel. The open floor plan flows from the living area — reclining leather sofa and matching reclining loveseat — directly into a chef-worthy kitchen: granite island with bar seating for five, custom wood cabinetry, and full stainless appliances. The kitchen is stocked with every pot, pan, dish, bowl, glass, and grilling tool you need. The gas grill outside comes with a full kit of tongs and utensils. Bathrooms are fully loaded with towels, washcloths, shampoo, soaps, Epsom salts for the jacuzzi, and a basket of essentials in case you forgot something at home. Show up with your bags, your people, your food, and your drinks. Everything else is here. THE WRAP-AROUND PORCH Spend one morning in a porch swing with coffee and mountain views and you'll understand why guests never want to leave. The porch runs the full perimeter of the cabin — front and back — with an antler chandelier, porch swings, a hammock chair, rocking chairs, and multiple seating groupings. Morning, afternoon, or evening — there is always a perfect spot out here. THE LOWER LEVEL — A COMPLETE ENTERTAINMENT SUITE This is where the cabin truly separates itself from every other rental in the area. The lower level is a complete entertainment and relaxation space — and one of the most impressive amenity packages you'll find in any mountain rental anywhere. The entertainment area is built around a floor-to-ceiling stacked stone fireplace with full lounge seating. Beyond that: a full pub-style bar with a polished wood top, bar stools, draft beer taps, and an ice maker. A pool table, ping pong, darts, cornhole, and a karaoke machine mean nobody runs out of things to do. A second large refrigerator keeps everything cold. The lower level also has its own private bedroom, a large bathroom with an oversized jetted jacuzzi tub, and a washer and dryer — making it a private retreat within the retreat. Families with multiple generations often put one group upstairs and one group down here, with full privacy for both. THE BEDROOMS AND BATHROOMS Four bedrooms sleep up to 10 guests comfortably, each with its own TV and warm knotty pine character throughout. The primary suite features a king bed with a carved wood headboard, French doors with internal blinds opening to the wrap-around porch, double sinks, a large jetted jacuzzi soaking tub, a separate walk-in tiled shower with river rock floor, and a private toilet room. The upstairs guest bathroom — serving the two additional upstairs bedrooms — also has a full jacuzzi tub. Every bathroom in the cabin has its own jacuzzi tub. All three of them. SEATING FOR EVERYONE This cabin was built for groups. Indoor and outdoor seating for well over 20 guests: - Dining table seats 6, extends larger with leaves - Kitchen island seats 5 - Lower level high top table seats 4 - Lower level dining table seats 4 - Outdoor dining table seats 6 - Plus porch seating, lounge seating, and bar stools throughout OUTSIDE Fire pit, gas BBQ grill with full grilling kit, outdoor dining for 6, private backyard, and covered porch seating front and back. The Ivy River runs along the property boundary — accessible via a steep, rocky path for sure-footed adventurers, best explored in fall or winter when water levels are lower. With zero light pollution and wide open mountain skies, the nighttime stargazing here is genuinely remarkable. On the right night, meteor showers are visible right from the property — no driving, no hiking, just step outside and look up.
