Porto Downtown Suite w/ Balcony & Palace View

This cozy suite is on the 3rd floor of our 400sqm private house with plenty of soul, tradition, and history. The house was originally built in 1896 and keeps the main structure since 1936. More than an accommodation our guests book an experience in a particularly unique, personal, and authentic way. We are a family of cultural mixes and we love the concept of sharing, receiving, and taking care of our guests as new friends. We’re located in the Art District, close to the historical center. The space The space The suite has about 20 m2 and consists of a bedroom with a private balcony with a view of Palace Pinto Leite and is equipped with a queen bed, a minifridge, and air conditioning. The suite also has a private bathroom with a shower, a hairdryer, and cost-free toiletries. Towels and bed linen are also provided. Laundry facilities and iron are available as well as cleaning products. It's the perfect place to relax, to have a sunset drink after a long day of sightseeing in Porto. The History The house underwent rehabilitation works in 2018, where the priority was to keep and recover the materials and design of the original house, without facing the time marks so we could keep the soul and history of old times. The original structure of the house is like a traditional building from the XIX century, where there is the main staircase, that divides the house into 2 independent blocks, front and back. Besides this space, we have 3 other independent suites available for guests that are carefully decorated with pieces from our family and also with re-used vintage furniture. Sustainability We only use renewable energy (Electric, Biomass, and thermodynamics). The heating system extracts the energy from the environment's heat sources (solar energy, stored in water, air, and soil) for later use in the air conditioning of the house. Concerning lighting, we also use Phillips low consumption lights and in common areas like the staircase, we use motion sensors. The Location We’re located in the heart of the Porto Art District, in a quiet local neighborhood out of the rush of the touristic area but close enough to several monuments and Porto's most iconic streets nearby. From a 10-15 minutes walk, you can reach the main ex-libris of the city, bars & restaurants. Note: Due to the Covid pandemic situation we're not receiving guests from 2019 until May 2022. Hopefully, now we are back :) Guest access The guests can have access to the complete suite with the balcony and to the common garden of the house.
