Matz House-Victorian Farmhouse Retreat
Description
Matz House is a fully renovated 1910 historic Victorian home located in a rural setting on two acres in the country while being only 2 minutes from I-5. It is perfect for a quiet getaway, a family vacation, or a retreat with friends. This property is centrally located in Whatcom County, a fifteen-minute drive to downtown Bellingham, Lynden, Birch Bay, and Blaine, as well as the Canadian border. It is a great starting place to enjoy all that Whatcom County and the Pacific Northwest have to offer. The space This home is located on a dead-end street in a rural area with a spacious yard and peaceful outside areas to relax and enjoy. Off of the kitchen, a large deck and lighted patio provide a charming gathering area with ample space and seating, a BBQ, and a fire pit area. Guests will have private access to the entire main house and yard and three stories of space. There are three private bedrooms on the second floor, one outfitted as a child's nursery. The attic is one studio space with two+ sleeping areas and additional sitting areas. There are two full bathrooms, one on the main level and one on the 2nd floor. Guest access Guests will have private access to the main house and yard. The property also has a private apartment and detached cottage with separate private entrances and outside areas for each occupant. The entry door is located on a shared deck area where two private entrances provide access to two separate units, however, guests will likely never see any other occupants as they use a back entrance on the other side of the property. The shop and back acre are not set up for guests and are clearly labeled to identify those private areas. Other things to note This home feels private and secluded, offers beautiful mountain, pasture, and treeline views, and is well-appointed throughout. It feels homey and warm and offers eclectic modern comfort mixed with turn-of-the-century charm.
