Historic early 1800s log cabin. Renovated Suite with - downstairs a sitting room with large fireplace and half bath, upstairs - one bedrm w/ 1 QN bed and full bath (shower), second bedrm 2 QNS & half bath. Big shared porch with rocking chairs in front. Nr pool & short walk to Farm Restaurant. Cleaning Fee -$50 per stay Pets allowed: $35 per stay charged at the property. 1800 acres - 18 mi of trails, 2 fishing streams, 2 ponds, Farm to Table Restaurant, Market-Deli & Tackle with meals to go. The space The farmhouse is in the valley, so there are views of the lawns, and the higher mountain. The river is across the way, yet a fine swimming hole is nearby. The seasonal pool is next door and trails are up the hill. Basecamp for hikes into the Blue Ridge - up Old Rag and White Oak Canyon Trails, a 7 mile drive up Robinson way to the back entrance, avoiding the heavy traffic. Fly fishing basecamp on our two mountain trout streams. The main lodge, for three meals a day - family farmhouse style southern cooking - is 2.5 miles upriver, where there is also the Jr Olympic size pool for you, stables, fishing, hiking and guided activities (rock climbing, fly fishing on Rapidan- naturalist hikes). Meals: the Farm Restaurant at the Main Lodge just up the hill. Farm to Table. Prepared meals, hot and cold sandwiches are at the Market Deli & Tackle. We've been farming this land - the valley and mountain slopes - since 1740. We farm primarily apple orchards with some cattle, goats and hay making meadows. You'll see it all but let us know if you fancy a farm tour. We are a family of six. Rachel and Jimmy are the Mom and Dad. You'll meet them down the road at our inn and family style southern restaurant, three meals a day for all our guests - along with the hikers, horse campers, fly fisher folk, and our farm team. We're the Kids - Lynn, Lucky and our wives Tricia and Missy. You'll likely see us down at the restaurant lodge. We are frequently there with our team for meals - and joking with Margie and Margaret who run the Southern cooking kitchen stoves and bakeshop. Just stop by and we'll fix you up with your next adventure here in our Blue ridge rural retreat.
