Bright Savary Island bunkie in the woods

A simple yet comfortable base for enjoying Savary's summer magic. You'll love the walking access to several sunny beaches, with plenty of shade when you're ready to cool off and relax on the deck or read in the hammock. Our back of the lot bunkie feels private in its forest setting, with comfy indoor sleeping and the satisfaction of outdoor cooking and dining. The space The 80sq ft bunkie features a bunk bed on the main floor and a queen bed in the loft, accessible by ladder. There's a covered, fully equipped outdoor cooking area with a small propane fridge/freezer, a large two-burner propane cook top and space for your coolers and food totes. An old school hand pump serves up water for all your basic needs, and there's an outdoor sink, an outdoor space for bucket baths, and an outhouse. There is no electricity at the bunkie, but a charging outlet is available on the larger cabin porch. At the front of the property, a large deck under the fir trees is a great place for dining and relaxing between trips to the beach. You'll love lying in the hammock and watching the treetops sway in the breeze, especially at night with a starry background. I co-own the property with my dad (Ray) and longtime friend (Barnaby and his three kids Maggie, Archer and Wynn). Over the last decade, we've built everything ourselves, working as much as we can to keep the natural feel of the place. It's been a labor of love, and we're excited to share the space - and the magic of Savary - with you! Guest access You'll have access to the bunkie at the back of the lot, the area around it and the deck at the front of the property. There is a second cabin at the front of the property, but it is off limits except for using the porch charging outlet. Other things to note Access to the cabin is via water taxi and land taxi, departing from Lund's main wharf, serviced and scheduled through Lund Water Taxi. You must book your land taxi as a separate service when you book your water taxi. Book at least a week in advance. Round trip cost is about $50/person for both land and water taxi. For items like bikes or paddle boards, an additional charge will be incurred. We recommend arriving at the water taxi at least an hour before scheduled departure. You'll need to unload your stuff from your car onto the dock, pay your fare, park your car and then walk from where you park down to the dock. It's a 10 minute water taxi to the Savary dock, where the land taxi (a truck) will take you to the cabin, a 20-min trip. For parking in Lund, you have a choice between valet parking at $8/day, or you can find a free parking spot on the highway. For first-timers, we suggest paying for valet parking. Stress free, shorter walk. You might end up walking a couple kms if you try and park on the road in busy season, and it's not always clear which zones are tow away zones and which aren't. This is a "glamping" style property with limited conveniences. You'll need to bring your own bedding (mattresses and pillows without cases are provided), towels and dish cloths. Toilet paper, paper towel, dish/hand soap, garbage bags and everything you need for cooking and preparing food are included with your stay. You must take all garbage and recycling with you when you leave the island. There is no electricity, but an outlet for charging devices is available on the larger cabin porch.
