Cabin in Blackwater
Description
Discover Kiln Cabin, a serene courtyard retreat with Scandi-modern charm. Perfect for couples or solo guests, it’s warm, pet-friendly, and perfectly placed for both coastal adventures and cosy winter nights in. The space Kiln Cabin is a cosy winter hideaway, tucked within our Mediterranean-style courtyard behind Simla, our Grade II listed Victorian home. Set in the quiet village of Blackwater, you’ll find a welcoming pub and a handy local shop just a minute’s stroll away. The cabin has its own separate side entrance (with shared driveway parking). Inside, you’ll find a warm, light-filled space designed for comfort — think soft throws, ambient lighting and a peaceful setting that makes it easy to settle in for a longer stay. The compact kitchen includes a fridge, air fryer and microwave, perfect for preparing simple meals at home. Or, when you fancy a break from cooking, the village pub and nearby cafés offer hearty Cornish fare. Well connected for travel, we’re just 30 minutes by taxi from Newquay Airport, 10 minutes from Truro train station, and with a bus stop close to the house. For extra ease, we can also arrange collection or drop-off on arrival and departure for a small additional charge — simply let us know. Whether you’re looking for a quiet base to work remotely, explore Cornwall’s dramatic winter coastline, or simply enjoy cosy evenings in, Kiln Cabin offers a calm and welcoming retreat for longer winter stays. Guest access Kiln Cabin has its own private deck, accessed through a separate side gate, with parking available on our large shared driveway. Even in winter, it’s a lovely spot — perfect for wrapping up warm with a coffee in the crisp morning air, or pausing to enjoy the quiet skies at dusk. The back courtyard is kept mostly clear over the colder months, apart from a little gardening and Craig’s quick visits to his work shed (tucked discreetly behind the house). The front garden and patio are reserved for our use, leaving you a peaceful space of your own. Other things to note We share our home with two large but very friendly dogs 🐾. If you’re planning to bring your own, we’d love a little introduction first—just so we can be sure everyone will get along happily. The cabin has its own entrance, but your pup will likely cross paths with ours at some point 🌿.
