Gardener’s Retreat by Lucy and Mark

A converted small wing of an Edwardian house set in 1.3 acres of garden and woodland. Our home is set in a tranquil oasis with beautiful views and provides the perfect place to unwind. Set on the edge of a golf course, with footpaths direct from the house, on a popular walking route. The space The self-contained space with your own private entrance is based on a shepherds hut design with bespoke handmade fittings. The space is small but cosy just like a shepherds hut (approximately 8ft by 25ft). As you enter through the curved entrance (door shown in the photographs with slight threshold lip) the bathroom (comprising of a large walk-in shower, toilet, and sink, with a vaulted ceiling and velux) is to the left up one step, and the bedroom is to the right, again up one step. The kitchenette is at the far end of the bedroom. The double bed has a Visprung mattress with Egyptian cotton sheets and a merino wool duvet! The small handmade kitchenette has a microwave oven, fridge, kettle, and toaster. Feel free to relax in the small courtyard outside or explore the main garden. There is NO TV but fast internet and the perfect place to unwind . We are normally closed in the winter months but feel free to enquire if you have a date in mind in January and February. Please note that our house is not easily accessible without your own means of transport. The house is a mile and half away from any facilities such as shops or restaurants and you may feel isolated without your own car or motorcycle. You really need a means of transport to enjoy being at the retreat. We have a zappi charger to use with your Ev by prior arrangement. Just request when you book. Please note that The Retreat is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible. Guest access Guests can access the courtyard, the main garden and the annexe. Other things to note There is no sink or cooker the microwave does have an oven function however). The hosts will do the washing up. Continental breakfast of milk, cereal, bread, jams etc is included. Along with tea and coffee & cafetière. There is a breakfast bar with two dining chairs in the kitchenette area but no sofa in the property. Apologies, there is room only for one or two people to stay in the property, there is not enough room for a travel cot therefore we cannot accommodate young children or babies. There is outdoor seating for two in the courtyard and the main garden. We have a zappi type 2 untethered 7kw charger which you would be welcome to use if requested when booking. The cost is 30 p/kwh. For one night stay, 15p/kwh for two night stays. Three or more nights free. I have a separate type 2 to type 2 charging lead that I use for my own car which can be used with the zappi.
