A stay for the Farm Curious! Enjoy a contemporary /rustic tiny house built 6-feet up amidst an evergreen grove, overlooking acres of berries (Farm LoLa) and our chickens (Locally Laid Egg Co.) Space includes: - Kitchenette with microwave, frig and coffee maker. - Full-sized bed in the loft & fold down couch - Deck, outdoor seating, fire ring / BBQ - Private outhouse, fire ring and hammock - Access to outdoor rinsing station (think shower) Earn field cred by joining in for chicken chores! The space Farm Lola/ Locally Laid is a working farm with some guests and visitors. You can learn about poultry care, join us for chores and pack some eggs for yourself! This “Choose Your Own Adventure” stay can include: • Tending pasture-raised poultry • Gathering eggs • Opening the coops in the morning • Putting chickens to bed at night • egg washing and packing, given the day (All chores are optional, of course -- but you do get to sign the cooler.) Chores are done in a flash with plenty of time for hiking, biking, and skiing local trails, Jay Cooke State Park & near-by Duluth. We offer at-cost gym passes $6 to the nearby Carlton Wellness and Fitness. There you can workout, enjoy a sauna and, of course, shower. (It's lovely.) There are steep stairs to the lofted bedroom, which might not be appropriate for families with small children. Guest access Located about 19 miles south of Duluth, MN, our working farm (Locally Laid and Farm Lola) is 45 acres and has over 400 chickens seasonally from mid-April to mid-October. During the summer, we operate the first US-based commercial honeyberry farm with a 10-acre honeyberry orchard that also includes strawberries and blueberries. Leashed dogs are welcome October through mid-April with prior authorization Other things to note Truly, all farm chores are optional. Really.
