Floating Treehouse + Sauna - The Firefly Cocoon

Stay on 160 wild acres of boreal forest at Glamp Good! Make your wildest glamping dreams come true in our Firefly, the first and only unit of its kind in Alberta! This tree cocoon is suspended from trees a few feet above the ground. Unwind, spend quality time and enjoy a one-of-a-kind experience on 160 private acres of boreal forest. Melt away all your stress away in our brand new wood-burning Nordic sauna - access is included in your stay. The space The Firefly is almost 10 ft wide (3 meters), and is 100% bed (queen size). Pillows, sheets, a duvet and an interior lamp are provided. This off-grid stay has basic solar power to charge your cell phone and laptop, but does not have electricity or running water. The outside space features a private area with 2 large canopies for rain cover/shade, LED lights, an outdoor sectional, a propane fire table (outside, no wood-burning fires permitted at this time), a picnic table, 2 gravity chairs and a camping stove with propane. There is a shared Nordic sauna with outdoor camp shower, gazebo to cook in with an egg chair, picnic table, LED lights, BBQ and propane range (common area for all guests). Our new cookhouse is a fantastic space to make meals together with lots of seating and counter space, an off-grid sink, prep space, a BBQ, a propane range and a pizza oven. *Glamp Good guests can also access warm showers and flush toilets by donation, 5 mins away, see "Guest Access" section.* Nordic sauna: Our Nordic sauna is now open! This is a communal amenity, shared amongst all guests. The sauna is wood heated. You will need to bring your own firewood to heat the sauna, and an axe to cut your wood. **Experience in creating and managing safe wood fires is required to use the sauna.** Guests must follow all warnings and rules, or they will be asked to leave the property immediately. Glamping is very much like camping in the sense that it is an outdoor experience - camping knowledge and essentials are required. Bring your own drinking water and camping food. Please note: We have 3 geodomes on our property (and 1 seasonal treehouse cocoon), approx 150 ft away from each other. There may be other glampers and pets on the property during your stay. As you can see in the pictures, this is not a drive-up situation. Our glamping units are in the forest and as such please be prepared for a short walk from your car (180ft) to the Firefly. Also, considering it is a forest, there are no paved trails and you can expect the same terrain you'd find in a forest anywhere else. Guest access On-site: The outhouse features a composting toilet (instructions provided) and foot pump hand washing station with soap (spring/summer/fall). Off-site: In addition to our on-site shower and toilets, our guests are welcome to access warm showers and flush toilets, *5 MIN DRIVE AWAY*, by donation - Open from May - Sept - Access by donation (donation box in front of shower building, recommended donation $2) - *5-minute drive away* - Map location will be provided Other things to note Cleaning duties: Please note we don't charge a cleaning fee. All guests are required to complete light cleaning such as changing the bedding, sanitizing surfaces, leaving no trace (pack out all garbage) and maintaining clean shared spaces. Failure to complete your cleaning duties will result in you being charged a cleaning fee. People on property: Please be aware that there may be other glampers, pets and/or the property owners present during your stay. Reservations must be a max of 2 guests and no other people are allowed on the property during your stay.
