Ten miles from Corning's Gaffer District & 25 miles to the world famous Watkins Glen State Park The space Our Little Cabin in the Big Woods is secluded and serene and the entire 56 acres is yours to enjoy with a private pond and dock. Even though we are off grid, we still have a full bathroom with a hot shower, running water, generator power to charge your devices and provide light at night. A rechargeable torch is provided. In the loft there is a king size bed. The ladder to the loft is a bit steep so another option is sleeping downstairs where the futon unfolds to a double size bed. Our tiny kitchenette has a cupboard, counter, and a small 4 burner stove and oven. Outside is a sink for washing dishes. Bring your own ice chest or cooler since we don’t have a fridge. There are tent sites available. Bring your own tent and equipment to set up in the designated areas. Walk our private nature trail 4/10 mile through the woods following the blue markings by the parking lot. Our pond is great for swimming. Take a jump off the dock and swim to the floating dock out in the middle. The ladder on the dock makes it easy to get in and out. Use the kayak and canoe with some of the life jackets provided. Bring your own fishing rod for catch and release bass fishing. Pick some peppermint or spearmint growing by the pond and make a fresh cup of tea. Spend time sitting around the campfire in the evening and enjoy some star gazing. There are a couple benches and adirondack chairs. Use the roasting forks to make s’mores or the grill grate for hamburgers. (Firewood is not included, but you can gather it from the woods nearby.) We don’t have wifi so enjoy unplugging and screen free time. Cell phone reception is spotty - don't count on it for work although usually you can find a signal that will work but may not be strong. We are seasonal. Book your stay with us from May - October. Guest access Our 56 acres is clearly marked and we invite you to explore and enjoy it. Please don’t wander onto our neighbors land. No Trespassing signs are to be respected. Other things to note Even though we are off grid, we have running water and hot showers. Bring your own drinking water please.
