The Sky Nest Barndominium @ Green Family Farms

There's something magical about climbing into our cozy loft, perched at the highest point on Green Family Farms. With its 4-foot ceiling, it's a snug little hideaway where you can curl up, unwind, and feel like you're camping in the sky! Accessed by tiny home style, space-saving stairs, this isn't a traditional bedroom or a place to stand upright. It's a charming little nest for those who love unique spaces and a touch of adventure. Sometimes the smallest spaces create the biggest memories! The space Your stay includes exclusive use of the second-story guest space, featuring a queen-size bed in the sleeping loft, accessible by tiny-home-style stairs. The loft has approximately 4 feet of ceiling height and is not designed for standing upright. A couch is also available on the main level for guests who prefer not to climb the stairs. You'll have a full bathroom with double sinks, a toilet, and a shower (no bathtub). The bathroom connects to an adjoining unit currently under renovation, which will remain locked throughout your stay, ensuring your exclusive use of the bathroom. For your convenience, a microwave and mini-fridge are provided, although there is no kitchen within your accommodations. There is a Farm Café & Market Downstairs - one of the unique pleasures of staying on our farm! Breakfast is available by advance arrangement. If you'd like us to prepare breakfast during your visit, please let us know before your arrival so we can plan accordingly. Adjacent to the café kitchen is our farm market store, where you'll find locally produced foods and other thoughtfully selected products. The café and farm store are part of our working farm, so you may occasionally hear visitors or activity downstairs. However, your entire second-story accommodation remains exclusively yours. Your Private Deck & Country Views: Step outside onto your spacious 20-foot, second-story deck and take in sweeping views of the surrounding pastures and cattle. Sunsets are particularly beautiful here! During cooler months, when the insects are less active, you may even choose to spend the night outdoors on the deck beneath the stars (bring an air mattress or cot if you want this option). With very few neighboring homes, the scenery is predominantly open countryside, livestock, and the natural rhythms of farm life. Although our farm offers a peaceful rural escape, we're conveniently located just 7–9 minutes from downtown Commerce, home to East Texas A&M University. We're also close to the Chaparral Trail, a wonderful destination for walking, biking, and exploring the Northeast Texas countryside. Whether you're visiting family, attending a university event, enjoying the outdoors, or simply looking for a change of pace, Green Family Farms offers a distinctive stay that combines country tranquility with small-town convenience. This isn't just a place to spend the night. It's an opportunity to experience a little of life on a working Texas farm (farm tours available upon request). Guest access You will have access to the parking area, the barndominium and the attached 20' x 20' 2nd story deck plus the fully fenced backyard. Other things to note This stay is on a working farm. Please read the Additional Rules under Policies and Rules for more details. NOTE: We can only accommodate children or pets with an additional release of liability. (please read our House Rules before booking) NOTE2: For long term stays, we ask that you book on a weekly basis so we can maintain the unit once a week - change the sheets/towels, and keep things tidy. Bookings longer than a week will be declined but you are free to book back to back, week to week. FINALLY: This stay is on an actual working farm. Farm animals have been known to: -Make funny sounds -Smell bad -Go to the bathroom -Procreate in public Farms also have bugs and unusual activity not normally seen in urban or city life. If these things would make your stay uncomfortable, we kindly ask that you choose accommodations better suited to your expectations.
