Throughout the winter season we will be opening our calendar two weeks in advance, weather dependent to ensure that our off grid water does not freeze. A propane heater is provided to ensure your sleep space is warm and toasty. Nestled between a stream and towering rock cliffs, this campsite is your own private national park. A short, steep downhill walk from the main house and parking lot, you'll find a spacious 16x16 bell tent with all the cozy amenities you'll need. Enjoy books, cards, and games for entertainment. Two hammocks are also available for relaxing in picturesque surroundings. The outdoor kitchen has a propane stove, charcoal grill, and portable grate for cooking over the campfire. The kitchen is stocked with everything you might need to unleash your inner camp chef. Just be sure to bring your cooler as there is no refrigeration. The off-grid bathroom contains a portable vault privy and a Joolca HOTTAP water heater and filtration system to supply the sink and outdoor shower. This is glamping at its finest with running water and electricity! A camp buddy propane heater is also provided to make sure you stay nice and toasty while you sleep even if there’s snow on the ground. To access the campsite guests can park in the large lot by the main cabin and then take a 100-yard walk down a steep, 30-degree slope to reach the campsite. Please note that the hill may be challenging for those with mobility issues. For an additional fee, guests can arrange transportation on our UTV. The tent is located on a half-acre wooded lot which includes two fire pits, a stage, and a creek with mini waterfalls and a wading pool area. This entire area is yours and yours alone. Although the campsite is private, please be mindful of our neighbors and avoid crossing property lines. Black and gold private property signs mark the boundaries. My husband, Damian, and I live in the cozy log cabin at the top of the property and are here to assist you with any questions or needs that arise during your stay. While our cozy Airbnb is situated on just under 2 acres of land, the surrounding wooded lots provide a feeling of complete isolation. From the campsite, you'll catch a glimpse of only our workshop. Outdoor enthusiasts will delight in our proximity to the Shenandoah River and the Appalachian Trail, both just a stone's throw away. Welcome to your nature lover's paradise! It is recommended that you purchase groceries before check-in as we are located about 20 minutes from town.
