Escape the hustle and bustle and retreat to the woods with this off grid tiny cabin nestled among a nook of maples. Surrounded by 20 acres of woods with a wide winding walking path to a beaver pond and a stone’s throw away from the Kennebec and Eastern Rivers. This is the perfect little woodland oasis! - 15 minutes to scenic Route 1 + Maine’s beautiful coast, 30 minutes to the Freeport outlets + LLBean Flagship Store and 45 minutes to Portland and the white sandy beaches of Popham and Pemaquid. PLEASE READ ENTIRE LISTING DESCRIPTION BEFORE BOOKING: The inside of the off grid tiny cabin has a twin daybed that slides out to a queen. A small table, two chairs and a kitchenette. The wood stove is out of commission in the summer because it gets too hot inside. If it’s forecasted to be a chilly night please reach out and I’ll provide you with a different kind of wood (knowledge of fire starting is a must!). The fire pit wood can NOT go in the wood stove because of potential creosote buildup which could lead to a fire. Thank you for understanding. Since there is NO RUNNING WATER we will provide 2.5 gallons of clean drinking water and a water dispenser in the cabin. NO ELECTRICITY. There are solar lights inside the cabin and a Jackery power bank to charge cell phones which is located inside the cabin under the kitchenette behind the camp light. This is a truly an off grid cabin so no air conditioning or electrical outlets. There is a nice cross breeze in the cabin but on hot, humid days if heat is a big issue for you I would HIGHLY recommend bringing your own battery operated fans. A potty trained and well behaved dog is allowed at the tiny cabin (1 max). When booking, add yourself and your dog (a $20 pet fee will be applied automatically to the booking price). We ask that you please pick up after your dog and leave waste in provided trash receptacle next to the outhouse. Dogs are not allowed to be left in the cabin unattended. Thank you. There is an A-Frame cabin on the property for other guests although completely separate and private from Maplenook. (The A-Frame does NOT have access to the beaver pond trail). Both cabins have access to the community outdoor shower on the property. The shower is located right behind the big black garage. When you drive down the field you’ll see the sign painted on the garage “shower” with an arrow. Please be mindful and limit showers to under 10 minutes and follow instructions carefully, they will be listed inside the shower. The outside offers a stone fire pit with Adirondack chairs, a screened in kitchen/dining area with propane cooking stove and a comfortable outhouse with a cedar shavings composting toilet. There are solar string lights so you can even enjoy the outside at night (the string lights come on automatically once it gets dark outside). Lack of daylight hours might limit the amount of time the indoor/outdoor solar lights stay on so we provide a backup light and candles just in case. The property is surrounded by 20 acres of woods for you to explore with a large winding one mile round trip path that leads out to a beautiful working beaver pond where birds like to nest, frogs like to croak and you might even hear the neighbors rooster off in the distance. I love to give guests as much privacy as they desire but I’m available 24/7 if a concern arises. PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING: * A lot of love and energy is put into this experience for people to enjoy so if you don’t value off grid glamping please look elsewhere for accommodation. Thank you! * NO PARTIES and out of respect for my neighbors and other guests I ask that you please adhere to the 10pm-7am quiet hours. * NO SMOKING It’s best to arrive while there is still light outside because the field to the cabin doesn’t have lights, it will just be your car headlights although there are signs with reflectors to help guide you. If you’re going to use the bed as a pull out queen, please keep it that way before you leave. Thank you! TINY CABIN - items provided: water dispenser, linens, cups, paper plates, wine glasses, bowls, eating utensils , French press, coffee, tea, creamers, sugar, olive oil, salt and pepper, books, games, solar back up light, Jackery power bank, cleaning supplies, paper towels and napkins. FALL: firewood + fire starters There is no WiFi but Verizon and T-Mobile have full service at the cabin, I am not sure about other providers. OUTHOUSE - NO RUNNING WATER. There is a cedar shavings compost toilet for poo and a toilet for pee, toilet paper, wipes, dry shampoo, deodorant, hand sanitizer, first aid kit and other miscellaneous toiletries that will be provided. OUTDOOR SCREENED IN KITCHEN - propane cooking stove, 2.5 gallon water jug , soap, sponge, wash bins, drying rack, trash can, cutting board, cooking utensils, knife, a cooler, a dining table and two chairs. FIRE PIT - you can purchase firewood from us for $5 a bundle or you can bring your own. We have a small wood shed out at the cabin with wood bundles ready to go for you. There is a cash jar or there's info at the wood shed for the option to pay online. Relax and enjoy the warmth of the fire on a chilly night or treat yourself to some s’mores!
