Welcome! This cozy, modest-sized room on the second floor in a SHARED HOME is furnished with a queen bed, smart TV, and a desk. You'll have access to SHARED kitchen, living room and two full bathrooms. Iron and ironing board in closet. Smart lock on door. Note: Hard-to-please guests who expect every detail to be perfect in a SHARED HOME are discouraged from renting. Host will make reasonable attempts to resolve serious issues. Kind, tidy, easygoing guests preferred! The space The corner house (my sister calls it the "house on the hill") was built in 1906 in Omaha's historic Walnut Hill neighborhood. There is actually a walnut tree that still looms over the property's west side, which I think is pretty cool. When I first saw the house, it just screamed "rent me out to people" because I love it when people get to experience a little taste of local history. If you are renting a single room, no worries, you will have access to the common areas noted in "guest access". If you are renting the whole unit (west side of house), then you will have access to all private rooms and common areas; basement and first unit (east side of house) are not accessible to guests. **All bedrooms are suitable for two guests total but room may accommodate up to 4 maximum (i.e., two adults, two children). See host for special exceptions or availability of rollout mattresses/extra blankets. See "additional charges" for more details. Guest access Guests will have access to the private room(s) designated in their reservation. ***COMMON AREAS (shared by other guests for single room rentals) -Kitchen -2 full bathrooms (one on first floor; one on second floor) -Upstairs sitting area -Upstairs desk/office area -Living room -Porch areas on south side of house (porch area on east side is off limits) Other things to note LAUNDRY SERVICE When available, host offers a laundry service to guests at $25 per load (load is considered one basket filled to top). Service includes washing, drying, and folding. Pressing is not included but may be requested at $5 per item. Laundered items will be returned within 24 hours or on occasion--by exception only, same day. See host with additional questions. Payment must made in advance of services. PARKING Two parking spots are available in front of the garage on the Lafayette Avenue side of the street (south side of house) on a first-come, first-serve basis. There is a security light and camera facing the driveway for your safety. Parking on the street is free and there are generally three spots in front of the house on Lafayette Avenue and one in front of the house on 45th Street. Security cameras face the streets on both the east and south sides of the house.
