Roomy 2 bdrm retreat with jacuzzi bath & fireplace

Retreat space is the entire spacious daylight basement of our home with a private, separate entrance down a pathway from the driveway. It has huge windows that flood the place with light, looking out on your private lawn. It is a great place for families, travel nurses, and business professionals. There are discounts for weekly and long term stays. You are within minutes of many of the best attractions in Portland yet quiet and secluded and near parks and trails. The space This suite is a fragrance free space, meaning that there is no smoking, vaping, absolutely no aerosol sprays of any kind, no candles, strong perfumes, diffusers, or air fresheners to be used in the suite anywhere. Unfortunately Cate has asthma and those things set off an attack. The suite and the main house have the same venting system so we ask that you refrain from using any of those types of things in the suite. Thank you ahead of time and we appreciate your understanding. The suite is located in the spacious daylight basement of our house. A sloping trail, from the driveway along the side of the house, leads you to your private yard with an outside dining area and the door to your vacation home. A patio with umbrella, table, and chairs greet you at the door. Inside are large windows that look out onto your private lawn. It is an open concept living, dining, and kitchen. The sofa turns into extra sleeping space if needed. Enjoy a gas fireplace and all the amenities of home. The blue bedroom has a queen spring form mattress and the gray room has a queen memory foam mattress. The bathroom has a double sink vanity and a jacuzzi tub with a rain shower head. The washer and dryer are in the hall as well as extra storage near the bathroom. Guest access The whole lower floor of the house, the back yard, and patio are yours to use. Inside, in the hall, we have several cabinets locked for our use but everything else is accessible to you. One parking space on the right hand side of the driveway is also yours to use. Since we live upstairs you may hear occasional sounds like the plumbing, or doors closing, or muffled every day living noises. We value your comfort so we try to be as quiet as possible. Other things to note We do not have air conditioning in the rental as Portland rarely gets hot enough to need it. But if it is hot, guests are advised to open up the windows at night and turn on the kitchen vent fan to cool down the suite. Then close the windows in the morning to keep it cool all day. We do have a box fan that can also be used in the window if needed. If you are booking during the winter months (November through March) be aware that there may be an occasional chance of snow or freezing rain. Our location is impassable maybe once in every 4 years during those times. We will issue you a full refund if we have to cancel due to inclement weather. We do not have recycling in the rental due to different laws in different states and countries. We do have a recycling bin in front of the garage if you choose to put your cans and plastic bottles in it. Otherwise just put everything in the trash. We provide initial paper products, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, dishwasher detergent, laundry detergent, and snacks. Please buy your own when you run out of provided products. Thank you. We often have deer visiting our back yard as well as rabbits, squirrels, and birds. We have strawberries growing in the front yard and you are welcome to a handful if you can get to them before the wildlife does! The rest we make into jam.
