Welcome, everyone! Our home, built in 1925, is located in the heart of the historical area of downtown Mitchell. It is situated next to the World’s Only Corn Palace and includes off-street parking for two vehicles. In the evening, you can enjoy the illuminated domes from the front door. Everything is within walking distance of events at the Corn Palace and downtown Main Street. If you appreciate a blend of history, antiques, and modern touches, you will find our home delightful. There are five wide steps leading into the house, but everything you need is located on the main floor. We have successfully hosted guests with allergies and chemical sensitivities. To accommodate their needs, we do not use air fresheners, added scents, or harsh chemicals in our home.On Wednesdays, we utilize a private office in the home from 9 AM to 5 PM. We kindly request that check-in occurs closer to 5 PM on Wednesdays. If you need to check in earlier, we will do our best to accommodate you. While five people will fit, it will be quite tight. The sleeping arrangements include one bed, one sofa sleeper, and one small couch. Both the living room and bedroom are large and spacious. The kitchen is compact but fully equipped. Guest access Self- Check in Access entire house Other things to note No yard, no grass on premises No Kitchen Table A full-size desk/workstation area in the kitchen. Couch is a sofa sleeper - full-size bed Only one large bedroom with a queen bed Please note that this is a historic home. There was no running water or shower throughout the house when it was built. In the past, having running water in the home was a luxury. For most of its history, this home served as the Palace Credit Union and later as a chiropractor's office, a tax office, and a weight loss clinic. We repurposed one of the bedrooms to add a small stall shower (34 inches) and a very nice washer and dryer, calling this the "shower room." This is the only room that includes a closet. The sink and toilet are located in the original small room. We love the history of this home, which is now 100 years old. We truly hope you enjoy it as much as we do and that you enjoy your stay in our cozy cottage. If you're traveling to the Black Hills, we have another Airbnb available in Spearfish, SD.
