Charming cottage with amazing garden view
Description
An artist and film-maker's home, close to iconic Gold Hill, in a historic street, this Grade II listed thatched cottage has an extraordinary feel. A beautiful kitchen extension opens out to the patio, offering a fabulous view. The 30-ft south-facing garden leads down to allotments and the open country. A short stroll to town, shops and pubs, and walks into the Dorset countryside on the doorstep. A place to relax and dream close to Stonehenge, Stourhead and the Jurassic Coast. The space Apart from the recent kitchen extension, this is an old country cottage, that might provide a challenge to taller guests. Visitors often comment on the welcoming feel of he place and are immediately struck by the romantic country views beyond the garden. Much of the furniture is hand-made by local artisans, and the walls display contemporary art and photography. The cottage combines the gentle buzz of an old market-town with the peace of the deep countryside. The area is renowned for one of he clearest skies in Southern England, perfect for star-gazing from the patio at night. There is a garden table with six seats. Guest access The whole house, garden and patio, with the exclusion of the two smallest rooms, one on each floor. Other things to note The front-door (at the back of the house!) opens up directly onto the street, with a narrow pavement. It is perfectly safe, as long as children are kept in hand, and people leaving the house, make sure that there is no traffic at the time. There is an inflatable mattress that will fit (just) in the living-room, suitable for children, a couple, or a single extra guest, who would be charged a small extra fee.
