Stunning shepherd’s hut between mountains and sea
Stunning shepherd’s hut between mountains and sea
Description
Enjoy a relaxing and peaceful break on the edge of the Snowdonia National park. The shepherd’s hut sits alone in an acre of garden at the rear of the Old School house. The shepherd’s hut was hand built in Wales and has a double bed, luxurious bedding, soft, romantic lighting and a cosy log burner. There is an electric coolbox, kettle, toaster, sink, and a Kadai fire pit and covered gas hob to cook on outside. The shepherd’s hut has its own private bathroom located in a second hut next door. The space The shepherds hut sits in the back garden of our old school house, surrounded by plants and trees, with the garden backing on to woodland. The space is private, with the annex building dividing the space between you and us, giving you the freedom and privacy to enjoy the garden – sit on the swings, lie in the hammocks, or wander round the garden. You enter the hut by climbing three steps. Once inside, you will find a comfortable double bed, with velvet bedding, cushions and a blanket. The area around the bed is painted in a dark green, making it cosy and relaxing. There is gentle lighting; fairy lights and miners lamp style dimmable lamps, as well as a candle which you can light, inside a small lantern. There are USB sockets and plug sockets, so you can charge your phone and devices easily. Underneath the bed, there is plenty of room to store your luggage. Next to the bed is the kitchenette, complete with kettle, toaster and sink with hot water. Inside the cupboard is everything you could need to prepare meals and snacks on the gas hob (located in the shack outside the hut), or the Kadai firepit outside. The kitchen drawer has cutlery, sharp knives, a bottle opener and plenty of cooking utensils. You will also find washing up liquid, cloths and sponges under the sink. Next to the kitchenette is a trolley, with tea, coffee (instant and fresh ground) hot chocolate and sugar. Here you will also find cooking oil, salt and pepper, measuring jugs, a salad bowl, a grater, and some breakfast cereal. Opposite the kitchenette is a dining area, with a fold down table, another miners lamp, a teapot, a digital radio and two chairs. Next to the dining area is space for your shoes and hooks to hang your coats. The mutli-fuel stove sits in the corner of the hut, and we provide enough wood for you to have a fire, and some smokeless coal for overnight. Instructions are given in the welcome booklet. Outside the hut there is a storage bin, which contains all the tools and the wood for the firepit. It can be also be used for storing your walking boots or wellies. There is picnic bench and fireside chairs beside the fire pit. The camping gas hob is next to the hut and has two main burners – a quicker option for cooking breakfast compared to the firepit. The bathroom hut is a few steps away from the main hut and contains a hot shower, a toilet, a sink and mirror and a heated towel rail. Towels and toiletries are provided. The surrounding area is beautiful – there is a mountain on either side of our house; Bwlch Mawr is visible beyond the rear of our house, and Mynydd Graig Goch can be seen if you look towards the front of the house. There are of course, plenty of challenging walking routes around Snowdonia, but if you fancy something easy, there is a 40-45 minute walk around the village which starts at the bridle path, right by our front drive. Guest access You have exclusive access to both the bedroom and living hut, plus the private bathroom hut. You have access to the whole garden, with cooking facilities and seating around a fire pit, plus safe parking on the driveway. Self check in is available. Other things to note We recommend that you bring a torch and flip-flops or similar, to make moving between the bathroom and main hut easier.
