Located at 2nd Hand Ranch & Rescue, this tiny house in the timber was built to share the beauty of nature with folks that want to camp.... but not really camp. This 12x12 house is off grid with a cute outhouse nestled in the timber behind the wildlife rescue. Relax and unplug for the weekend and know 100% of the fee goes to the animal rescue. We bring your supplies up via Gator as you hike the trail up. PLEASE NOTE: NO RUNNING WATER/SHOWERS This is a perfect get away to chill. Its a little 12x12 house with a queen sleeper sofa and 2 loft beds. It includes 5 gallons of water (in summer 1 gallon in winter but happy to bring more any time) to washup. Nice deck, a propane grill to cook, 1 bundle of firewood, and a duralog to start your fire. Coffee, cocoa, tea french press, kettle, & cook ware are supplied. We are 1 mile from the Hennepin Canal with it's 92 miles of towpath trails and only 5 miles from Hennepin Hopper Lake and the Wetlands Initiative waterfowl refuge. It is perfect for canoeing, kayaking, or just taking in the sunset. If needed, we have the path lit up at night to come down to our house, otherwise the magical house on the hill is all yours. PLEASE NOTE: NO RUNNING WATER/SHOWERS NO ELECTRIC THAT MEANS NO AIR-CONDITIONING this is camping but bougie ***TENT CAMPING AT SITE - BRING YOUR FRIENDS - SCOUTS & CHURCH GROUPS TOO! ***** Please Note: PLEASE REMEMBER WE ARE PET FRIENDLY, SO TRY AS WE MAY, WE CAN'T GET ALL THE PET HAIR VACUUMED OUT OF THE CARPET. If you are allergic to animals, this animal rescue probably wouldn't be a good match. But doggy folks, enjoy this location with your pooch. You have access to our 10 acres of timber to walk around, but be careful about getting too far away and lost. The house is above our home on the hill. We will assist you with all luggage at 5:30 pm weeknights and 3pm Friday-Sunday at check-in if you wish, or if you have mobility issues we will gladly drive you up . At anytime noon or before will happily help you down as well. You can come down at feeding time to get to know the animals at 6/7 pm each day OR stay on a weekend with an open house and enjoy smores, hotdogs and all the animals and volunteers. PLEASE NOTE: NO RUNNING WATER/SHOWERS We live at the farm and will respect your space and feel free to wander the woods but the rescue is off limits when we are not around. BUT we welcome you to come down at 6pm when we do evening feeding and chores or on a Saturday Morning when we are cleaning and doing chores at 10 am --feel free to visit with everyone. We welcome volunteers and if you are lucky enough to book on an open house weekend, enjoy the event, have some smores hotdogs and visit with the guests. We are a rural location with 10 acres of timber, but we have neighbors who are amazing that love our wildlife rescue. So we try to be very respectful to them as they are to us. We love our neighbors. You will park at our house at the bottom of the hill and take the trail to the cabin. We drive up all coolers and supplies with our Gator. If you have mobility issues we are happy to drive you up as well. Check in is at 4pm. Check out is at Noon. Those 2 times we will take your supplies up with our John Deere Gator as you hike up the beautiful path. These times are set. If you want to come later or check out earlier, we can try to accommodate that schedule. DOG RULES: ON LEASH AT ALL TIMES, MUST BE CRATED IF YOU LEAVE THEM IN THE CABIN UNATTENDED, THEY ARE NOT ALLOWED AT RESCUE - STRESSES WILDLIFE, YOU MUST PICK UP AFTER DOG - WE HAVE BAGGIES, ALL DAMAGES ARE RESPONSIBILITY OF OWNER, WAIVER & 100% . WE LOVE DOGS AND KNOW THEY ARE FAMILY ENJOY YOUR STAY What is supplied: Queen sleeper sofa and all fresh clean bedding. 2 loft beds with a ladder. Cordless fan & LED lighting. Gas Grill for easy cooking, a small fire circle and 1 free bundle of firewood. We have many books on nature and some art supplies, start a journal, paint and find your creative soul. Or just lay down with all the doors open and nap. We also have some excellent hammocks, perfect for napping. Animals at the rescue: We invite you to come down at 5-6pm each day to help us feed and love on the animals.
