Taylor Cottage & Retreat Space

Located in a quiet neighborhood, Taylor Cottage has modern comforts and the charm and quirks of a 1930s home. With multiple porches, you can enjoy the outdoors, day and evening. Walk the lake trails in nearby Murphy Park or stroll to historic downtown. It’s a perfect spot for families, couples, individuals, business travelers, or friends on a weekend adventure! Retreat leaders: the Cottage accommodates eight people for activities and dining and has a Sonos sound system in the living room. The space The home includes two bedrooms and one bath and an open floor plan that allows for connection between the kitchen, dining, and living room spaces. An office space is located in a large utility room with windows, and is adjacent to the washer and dryer and the back door. A seating area is located on the front porch that allows for views of sunset. An outdoor dining area and additional seating are located on the large back deck that provide views of sunrise and the birds over the lake. Retreat leaders: The living room can accommodate eight people for circle and movement activities, and the open kitchen/dining area makes meal prep and serving easy. There is ample seating for dining inside or on the deck. If not in the Cottage, your participants can stay in reasonably priced nearby lodging options -- some within walking distance -- or they can commute from Austin, Round Rock, or Georgetown. Guest access Parking is on Vance Street in front of the home, or in the driveway located on 12th street. If you prefer to pull your vehicle into the yard, you can enter the pedestrian gate and open the rolling gate to drive inside. This option allows one vehicle to park inside the gate and a second vehicle to park in the driveway. A numeric door code will be provided to access the electronic front and back door deadbolt. Other things to note The windows are not functional and should not be opened. Pets are not allowed on the furniture without protection. If your pet is likely to get on the daybed, please cover it with a towel, which you can find in the hallway bench. If property is damaged, a fee will be assessed to cover the damages. You are welcome to cut and enjoy herbs such as mint and parsley from the raised bed garden.
