Description

Come and spend a relaxing time in our no frills cottage in the Peak District away from the stresses of modern life. Ideal base for walking cycling or exploring the area. Public footpaths almost from the door and nearby Tissington, Monsal and Manifold cycling trails. Matlock is 3 miles away with all amenities, trains and buses. Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are within close proximity as is the market town of Bakewell and quaint village of Winster. The space Former stables for the neighbouring tollhouse, dating back to 1757. Now a delightful cottage with lovely views over the rolling countryside Guest access Guests have full use of the cottage and garden and private off-road parking opposite. (Please note that the parking area serves 2 cottages - Park on the downhill side, end to end if there is more than one vehicle) Do not park in the private space 50 yards uphill on the same side as the cottage. Street parking outside the cottage is permitted. EV charging is not allowed from the house. An EV charging point is 10 minutes drive away at Edgefold Road in Matlock or 15 minutes away at New Street in Bakewell. There is a sofa bed in the living room - please ask for bedding if needed - there is an extra £20 charge to cover laundry fees. The bathroom has a working shower over the bath, but it is not possible at this time to take a bath. Other things to note Three Stags Heads is a local pub 1/2 mile down the hill serving fresh cooked food. The Square and Compass 0.7 miles down the hill and over the bridge also serves food. They are both within walking distance but of course there is an uphill walk home. There is a well stocked community shop, post office and 2 pubs in Winster, The Bowling Green and The Miners Standard both serve food -2 miles away). A Co-op beyond Darley Bridge on the A6 and a pub opposite (Barringtons 1 1/2 miles away) and another pub in Churchtown The Church Inn 1 1/2 miles away) All the above pubs serve food. Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are both a short drive away.
