A romantic retreat for two or a family cottage for up to four. This enchanting character two bedroom stone built cottage adjoins a C16th manor house, nestling between two other cottages overlooking a courtyard & gardens. Cosy & decorated traditionally it has exposed beams and log burning stove. Private patio leads to 5 acres of secluded shared sculpture gardens & outdoor pool. Off the beaten track in rural N Devon on Cornwall border near breathtaking coast. Village pub & shops 1.5 miles. The space The rear door opens to a patio with picnic bench table and a small garden which leads into the shared 5 acre grounds of the old manor house. Wildlife can often be seen in the shared garden, examples include: deer, hares, woodpeckers, buzzards, hawks, owls and foxes. Due to minimal light pollution we are one of the remaining dark sky areas so on cloudless nights the the night sky and stars can be clearly seen. The cottage has exposed roof beams and timbers and open tread staircase. Main bedroom with double bed and L-shaped twin bedroom with twin single beds at right angles to each other. Cottage kitchen is equipped with electric cooker, microwave, under counter dishwasher, fridge with ice box, sink and drainer. Cutlery and crockery for two is provided as well as tea towels, washing up sponge and cloth. There is a small selection of cleaning materials under the sink. Complimentary starter packs of tea, coffee, milk and sugar and biscuits included. Bathroom has over bath electric shower, heated towel rail, fan heater, toilet and extractor fan. Complimentary starter pack of soap, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel & body lotion included. TV with dvd player and Wifi. Electrical convector heaters and night storage heaters in addition to log burning stove. Logs can be purchased on site or locally. Guest access Cottage is self contained and self catering. Guests have access to shared parking area, 5 acres of shared grounds with sculpture gardens, bluebell wood, wildflower meadow, outdoor unsupervised pool. There is a shared guest barbecue area in the garden. There is also a small art gallery exhibition of local artwork in the Drawing Room of the old manor house. This can be visited by arrangement with the host. Shared laundry room on site with £1 coin operated washing machine and tumble dryer. Shared freezer space also available here if required. A communal leaflet stand has information of local places of interest and activities.
