Granny's cottage in old village of Stormälö

A modest grandmother's cottage in the middle of a dilapidated rural village in the Turku archipelago. In the shade of large deciduous trees, you can imagine the past prosperity of the former farm over 600 years of history, listen to the birds singing and watch the sheep grazing next to you. Walk through the traditional landscape meadows in the woods, on the rocks. Go fishing on the boat shore, where a rowboat is available for guests. A good stop along the archipelago's hiking trails or a place to rest from the hustle and bustle of the city. The space Sleeping areas: Sleeping places for three adults and one child or teenager. One bedroom with 2 separate beds (80 cm) and one bed where an adult can also sleep but the weight limit is 100 kg. In the living room there is a sofa bed for one. If the children are small, more can stay if agreed in advance. Living room and kitchen: The kitchen is connected to the living room. Drinking water. Cutlery, dishes and cooking utensils. Stove, oven. Dining table. Refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, kettle. There is no dishwasher. The living room has armchairs and a sofa bed. TV. Fireplace. Bathroom and sauna: Cold and hot water. Small electric sauna. Shower, sink. Water toilet. There is no washing machine in the cottage, but if necessary, you can borrow a washing machine nearby and laundry service is also possible. Outdoor areas, beach, sheep, bikes, trampoline, etc.: In the yard, there is a dining table and a seating area in the shade of large deciduous trees. Hanging swing. A small area with direct sunlight. An old "heteka" as a sun lounger, plus a few lounge chairs in the cottage storage. Small grill and fireplace. Open fire is prohibited if it is very dry or there is a strong wind. Rowboat on the beach in free use (1 boat/cottage in use, shared village beach, not suitable for swimming). 1.5 km away the nearest good beach in Stagsund campsite. It's the same distance rowing as it is by bike. Village beach - if someone asks (friendly people) then say you are from the opposite shore. Good paddleboarding opportunities if you have your own paddleboard. You can ask for worms for fishing (in dry weather, it is worth buying e.g. Tokmanni). You can also ask for a net permit. Explore nature and climb the rocks - carefully. Stroke the sheep. Do not let the dog loose in the pasture. If you are unsure about the dog's attitude towards sheep, I do not recommend renting because the pasture is in the immediate vicinity. Do not feed the sheep without permission, you can pick greenery from nature and give it to them. There are a few toys in the cottage for the youngest children. More can be brought. In the barn yard/Jenny's lower yard there are 2 frisbee golf baskets that can be moved. Trampoline and swings and slide that can be used at your own risk. You can relax on the sun loungers next to the trampoline. A few bicycles are available (between two cottages) to access nearby beaches or nearby villages. Respect your neighbors and nature. ❤️ Guest access The entire cottage is at the guest's disposal. Other things to note Warning for those staying with children. In the courtyard of the barn, in front of the barn's side building (currently being repaired/demolished), there is a well (covered but good to know). Don't stand on the cover, it may collapse. Buildings are currently being repaired. Tractors or agricultural machinery may be moving in the area. You can move around the area at your own risk. We also have small children and animals, so drive slowly and carefully in the yard. Jenny's family's lower yard has swings and a slide, a few bikes, a trampoline, and frisbee golf baskets that guests can use at their own risk. Small children under parental supervision. Guests staying with a dog. Dogs must be on a leash (if you are not 100% sure that they will obey or stay in the yard, even if a sheep comes next to the fence). There is a sheep pasture next to it (with a fence in between), but it does not stop dogs. If you suspect that the dog will not get along with the sheep, we do not recommend staying with us. Sheep must not be chased or fed without permission (ask Jenny what you can give them). You can pat them. There are other dogs in the village as well, so please let us know if you are traveling with a dog or if you are afraid of dogs, we will keep them away. Our family also includes two cats.
