Description

Halamiling is a 17th century Grade 2 Listed Cornish Farmhouse. It has a sense of being solid and timeless (which it is!), as well as cosy, homely and peaceful. Unique features include a huge fireplace, original bread oven (decoration only!), Rayburn (for the winter period). The house has stunning views onto the gardens, woodland and farmland which surround it. The gardens and lakes are a gem to enjoy, and it offers great walking on the doorstep including along the Valency Valley to Boscastle. The space On the ground floor you enter via a boot room for coats, which also contains a washing machine, dryer and dishwasher. There is a kitchen which is well equipped and spacious, a dining room (seats eight) with Rayburn for the winter, a cosy lounge with spectacular fireplace incorporating a wood burning stove. Logs are provided for fires. It also has a 55" LG OLED Smart TV (2021). There is a snug room/play room with small sofa and toys, books and also a loo and shower downstairs. A separate office is on the ground floor. Upstairs are four bedrooms and two bathrooms. The upstairs is divided into two parts by stairs (see photos). On one side is: two bedrooms and a bathroom... one of the bedrooms has a king size bed, and the other has a double bed and a small single bed/day bed. The bathroom has a loo and shower. The other side of the stairs is: two more bedrooms and another bathroom... one of these bedrooms has a double bed, and the other a super king bed. This bathroom has a bath, hand-held shower and loo. The house is enveloped by woodlands and beautiful gardens, so each window has stunning views. There are two outdoor table areas for the sole use of the Farmhouse, one of which has a BBQ. There is also a stunning garden with lawns, numerous flowers, pond and picnic bench which can be enjoyed by all guests staying in this little enclave. There are two other properties in the farm enclave, a barn and stables conversion; each one has a good sense of privacy and seclusion. The stone farmhouse is wonderfully cool on hot summer days and warm and cosy in the wintertime. Guest access The gardens, lakes and farmland can be enjoyed by guests. Other things to note As this is a 1650 grade II listed building the main stairs can be seen as a bit steep (see photo). They are covered in soft carpet, with a soft rug at the bottom and are fitted with banisters. We can fit stair-gates if required for toddlers. May not be suitable for someone who has challenges climbing stairs. Please contact me for more planning details if needed. There is an alternative outside set of gentle garden steps to the largest bedroom and bathroom (on the upstairs part of the house) and one of the double bedrooms.
