You will feel transported to "old Paris" upon walking in through the grand entry doors of this once-upon-a-time single family mansion. Our little nest is ground floor with stairs to the 2 bedrooms (one single bed, one queen bed that can be pulled apart into two singles) and full bath. Recently renovated, you will have the perfect combination of old and new... Feel free to enjoy your morning coffee and then stroll up the street to the Seine, the Musee d'Orsay, or Blvd St. Germain. The space This was a grand, private family home of a French baron that has now been turned into separate apartments. There is a rich history still evident, including the ramp (currently home to the trash cans) where the horses got led up and down to their stables that were in the basement of the building. Next door Chateaubriand used to live! Please note that compared to North American standards, our apartment is VERY cosy. But, c'est la vie in Paris, so you will be getting an authentic experience (as we do live here as a family of three). There are two bedrooms (one is quite small and without a window, but still has a single bed), and the other bedroom has a queen bed that is composed of two single beds that can be pulled apart into two singles if you prefer. Due to the current bed bug situation in Paris which we are taking seriously, we are asking that suitcases be left downstairs. There will be cupboards available in the bedrooms for you to unpack your items. Guest access You will have separate access to just our apartment (after entering through the main door) and the little table in the courtyard. The main door has a code, and then our apartment has a key. Other things to note Please note that this apartment is aimed at individuals (or couples) who are looking for a more mature, peaceful place to stay. We aim to uphold the serenity of the building, so please keep that in mind when choosing whether to book. Additionally, the access to the bedroom and full bathroom is by way of stairs that are quite steep (and can be slippery). Therefore, we do not allow young children. It is also very small compared to USA standards, so just think how lucky you will be to get the true French experience! And, on that note, the ceiling in the bedroom is low, suitable for people up to 5 feet 11 inches, so please keep that in mind when deciding whether to book.
