Charming courtyard cottage

A perfect York base, artwork fills this self-contained, detached cottage. Located in a pretty, private courtyard garden behind our home. Only a 20 min. walk or 10 min. bus ride to York Minster. Parking available on request. Special day? We can arrange a welcome surprise! 🥂 The space This little self-contained hideaway offers plenty of comfort. Downstairs you’ll find a entrance hall, shower room and cosy double bed room. Stairs lead up to a stunning light and airy sitting room and kitchen/diner. Enjoy views across garden from the balcony. Roof windows in the high beamed ceiling flood the sitting room with light, creating a relaxing space that overlooks a private walled garden from its little balcony. There's a full kitchen, plus dining table, together with fast Wi Fi and terrestrial, Freeview, IPlayer, Netflix, ITVx and more on the large screen TV. For warmer weather, in the courtyard garden that is shared with the main house, there is a comfy, sunny spot for breakfast or evening relaxing under the stars with a glass of wine. The well equipped kitchen offers a fridge/freezer, microwave, induction hob and electric oven. We provide fresh milk, or plant alternative, Nespresso machine, coffee and a range of teas. Plus salt and pepper, olive oil and herbs. Fresh linen, towels and a hairdryer is provided, plus, shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. The cottage has hard floors and rugs so if you like your slippers bring them along! (We do have slip-ons if you forget). Our quiet road is a 20 min walk or short bus ride to York Minster and old town with its ancient walls, shops, bars, restaurants, theatres, art gallery and riverside. The train station is a 30 min walk, 20 min bus or 15 min taxi ride away. We are very close to shops for supplies with a Post Office and laundrette just minutes away. 🎉 Special occasion? We will arrange a bottle of chilled Prosecco and chocolates or fruit to be ready for your arrival with a personalised, hand written tag label for an additional £22. Just let us know. Please note, with low level shelving, no stair gates or high chair, our cottage is not suitable for toddlers. Babe in arms is fine and we can supply a travel cot if needed. Guest access The entrance to the cottage is through large wooden street doors. You will have your own keys, giving you access through the garden to your front door. Security lights operate after dark for your safety. You are welcome to use the garden during your stay. Other things to note Parking is available for nights booked with us via on-street parking visitor permits, charged at £3 per night. Secure bike storage is also available. The cottage is pet free for the comfort of all our guests. Strictly no smoking or vaping on the property.
