Artist’s retreat! Cozy mountain cabin.

Natural beauty and wildlife surround this sweet cabin in the mountains south of Magdalena. Come to relax and unwind in the beautiful pine woods or book a personal art retreat to focus on your work or learn something new. Beautifully refurbished two bedroom, one bath cabin contains two small-scale art making spaces and a writer’s corner. There are rough sawn wood floors throughout with one of a kind red cedar floors in the living room. Full kitchen with apartment size appliances. The space Approximately 800 sq. ft. mountain cabin with rustic industrial touches. All rooms are on ground level. The stairs you see in the photo of the living room access an unused attic space. Ponderosa pine, piñon pine, juniper and oak trees surround the cabin which is located on 27 acres of private property on the edge of the Cibola National Forest. The private property is left in a very natural condition and is especially beautiful after the summer rains begin in July. Guest access Cabin art studio workspace is available (for an additional fee) for any artists to use but the printmaking presses and equipment are only available to experienced printmakers. Easels are also available for other types of artists. Other things to note Experienced printmakers may request renting a separate printmaking and letterpress studio — Village Press Print Studio — located on the property and available for an additional daily rental fee. It contains a 34”x60” Takach etching press, a Vandercook SP-15 letterpress proofing press as well as a vintage C&P platen press. Antique wood type and metal type are also on hand for use in this studio. Arrangements will need to be made prior to your stay to be able to rent the printmaking studio. People who do not have printmaking experience but would like to take a letterpress, printmaking or bookarts class may contact the host prior to your stay to schedule a private class.
