Colonial Beach is close to Dahlgren, VA and the Naval Support Facility, and we are military friendly. Charming cottage that has all the modern amenities wrapped into the original 1910 home. When you enter in, you will find a warm and comfortable living room ready to relax in. As our home is over 100 years old, you will find some uneven wood floors. From the living room you can head into the front bedroom or continue into the large kitchen, TV room, bathroom or another bedroom/bathroom. The back bedroom with a connected bathroom also has a sliding glass door to the fenced backyard. Upstairs you will find 2 bedrooms, each with a double/full bed along with a bonus twin bed. During the last 10+ years, I have worked many times from our home - either from the kitchen table, or from the couch w/ a laptop desk. Guests have full access to the amenities located at the cottage. Visitor Policy: You are welcome to have a few (4 or fewer) friends and family visit during the day who are not staying at our home. Please contact us for approval if you wish to have more than 4 visitors at any time to the property (house or yard/premises). If your friends bring a dog in the home, I'm sorry - but a pet fee will be charged. I love dogs, but they trigger higher cleaning fees. Your rental does not authorize anyone to host a party of any kind. Your visitors during the day are not allowed to bathe/shower, sleep in an unused bed or otherwise make use of the home as a guest. If you allow this, you will be charged $25 per person per day. As the booking guest, it is your responsibility to make your visitors aware of the House Rules and see that they follow them. Any unauthorized visitors that stay overnight will result in an additional charge $50 each per guest. This fee will be charged to the booking guest. Available as needed to help with questions. We are surrounded by other cottages, 2 blocks from 2 churches, 1 block to beach, 4 blocks to either Brew Pub, 2 blocks to town pier, and start of the boardwalk. Food -- is also 4 blocks away. A beach cart added for the 2024 rental season. And, their are 2 low beach chairs. Bring your bicycle! With Colonial Beach being relatively flat, it is a very pleasant place to ride. It is also a golf cart community with 3 local businesses ready to rent you a golf cart if you desire. If using a golf cart is something you'd like to do, we recommend getting a reservation as they do sell out most weekends. Backyard is fenced and the front yard is not. If you do bring a pet, there is a town ordinance where dogs must be leashed. Yard leads are available in front. Tampering with the security camera (focused on front porch) is a violation of the house rules and your reservation will be terminated immediately. No refund will be given.
