Description
In this villa built in 2020 in compliance with demanding environmental standards, you will enjoy an open space on the great Provençal landscape while benefiting from the cultural and commercial activities of the village of Cotignac, ranked among the most beautiful in France. The space At the top of a plot of land formed by solid terraces built at the end of the 19th century by the convicts of Toulon, the house enjoys a panoramic view to the Esterel massif. The living room-kitchen, master bedroom, en-suite bathroom with private terrace, powder room and pool are accessible via the large stone staircase. An awning, equipped with a large convivial table, a plancha and a bench in the shade of the reeds, allows a smooth transition between indoors and outdoors towards the 12.50 m x 3.50 m pool. Below, 2 bedrooms with separate entrances. They are equipped with a private bathroom, consisting of a shower and toilet. Each bedroom has a private terrace. Nearby, a large petanque court, ping pong table and darts will liven up your summer evenings. It should be noted that the configuration of the land with its large walls that form terraces is not ideal for hosting small children. For the design of the house, we have preserved as much as possible this typical site of olive crops by drawing inspiration from the typology of these dry stone terraces and the surrounding scrubland. We took care to reduce our impact by using natural materials: The terracotta walls are coated with clay, the Aleppo pines, felled to meet fire standards, were sawn on site to make some of the furniture; the stones of the facades come from the demolished terraces in place of the house, the walls are whitewashed, the bathrooms in tadelakt. Meeting ecological challenges guided some of our choices, including the recovery of gray water supplying the toilets, a solar panel for domestic hot water on beautiful sunny days. the villa is labeled as Furnished and Classified☆☆☆. (To be classified in a higher category, it was necessary to have equipment that goes against our ecological objectives. It lacked a dryer and a microwave to be classified 4 stars...) Guest access This former agricultural land, located 5 minutes by car and 15 minutes walk from the village, overlooks a vineyard, it is accessible by a dirt road shared with the winemaker. At the entrance to the grounds, we have set up 6 parking spaces, 2 spaces are also available at the foot of the house. Suitcases can be unloaded at the foot of the rooms located on the ground floor. Other things to note As an architect, I chose to radically change my lifestyle and settle in a place that reconciles a need for nature, calm, and great landscapes, while enjoying the benefits of a culturally lively village. Cotignac and its region have many assets and I will be delighted to guide you in this discovery. Our ultimate goal will be to rehabilitate the abandoned olive trees and create a market garden. We hope that this house we share can rejuvenate you thanks to the magic of Provence. Registration Details 8304600010979
