Hilltop holiday cottage, Machrie, Isle of Arran

Off the beaten track! Great views (and sunsets). Golf and beach near by. Hilltop former farmhouse up a rough farm track (approx. 600-700m) passing Auchagallon Stone Circle. Ideal rural spot for some peace and quiet or an active break (no WiFi). Brodick 20 mins drive. Would suggest packing your wellies, bike, binoculars and books! Suitable for adults only (old farm outbuildings behind house). Sorry no pets. *See section "Other details to note" for additional details about the farm track. The space The house has a good sized kitchen, dining room, sitting room with a window seat and three bedrooms upstairs. The bathroom is half way up the stairs and the shower room is downstairs. There's an enclosed garden at the front and a yard at the back with picnic table with parasol, bench and BBQ. Guest access Guests will have the house, front garden and surrounding area to themselves. Other things to note Farm track Please note that the farm track is a rural farm road (approx. 700 metres) and the final section of the track leading up to the property is steep and bumpy which can be tricky for some vehicles especially in adverse weather. We recommend guests with lower clearance cars or those unfamiliar with rural roads to take care when navigating this part. We recommend driving cautiously. Waitrose Food Magazine. June 2025 issue. Red deer can often be seen on the hill. Shorter walk up to cairn (great views) at the back of the house. Sandy beach and jetty at the bottom of the farm track.
