Welcome to Deer Creek Cabin on Lake Centralia. Relax with the whole family at this peaceful private retreat. A large deck surrounds the pool for all your family fun. Fishing and kayaking are just steps away. Enjoy your morning coffee in the screened-in porch overlooking a quiet cove of the beautiful lake. It is common to see deer, geese, ducks, turtles, and blue heron. As night falls, cozy up around the fire pit to make more family memories. The space This home is set on a 2 acre wooded lot and has a private drive. There is plenty of room to spread out and explore. Inside the home, on the lower level you will find 2 bedrooms, 1 full bathroom, living room, laundry room, and a full kitchen. Upstairs there are 2 loft areas and 1 full bathroom. The screened-in porch overlooks the deck, pool, and cove. It is the perfect place to drink your morning coffee and watch all the wildlife. Be sure to follow the wooded path down to the boat dock. It is a short walk behind the pole building. It will delight you with another great view of the lake! If you plan to bring a boat, you must make prior arrangements. Kayaks and fishing are just steps away. Kayaks are provided. Pool accessories and additional chairs are located in the small room of the detached garage. Local favorites (Salem, IL): Sharon's Cafe (our favorite for breakfast; serves lunch also). Chuck's Place (BEST place for a burger! My mom loves the fried cauliflower). Chico's - little locally owned eatery serving Mexican food. Dairy Mart - do not miss Dairy Mart! seasonal ice cream shop; also has Mini Golf! Salem Bowl - locally loved bowling alley; they have good food too! Idyllwood - roller skating and more; please look up operating hours. ABC Pub Bar & Grill - long standing establishment in Salem. Iron Saddle - new local favorite; fun atmosphere. 6:10 - yummy coffee treats; drive through only. El Rancherito - traditional Mexican restaurant favorite. La Cocina - traditional Mexican restaurant favorite. 5 Brothers Restaurant. Pizza Man - local favorite; be sure to ask about the Salem Special. Mamma Antonia's - Pizza and other Italian food. IGA - locally owned grocery store with a smile! Produce Plus - Salem's favorite deli; be sure to stop there for all your grilling needs; also features produce, candy in bulk, and other treats. Salem also has a Super Walmart with pickup available. As well as Dollar General, CVS, and IGA. There is also an Applebee's, Denny's, Domino's Pizza and many fast food joints. Salem has a very nice public pool and park. The park offers disc golf (must supply own discs). Salem has a nice nature trail; located behind the Salem Township Hospital. Salem Country Club for golf. Salem Elks and American Legion. Local favorites (Centralia, IL): Monical's Pizza. C-Town Twist - ice cream. Rosati's - nice sports bar and Italian eatery. RAIL - SUPER cute coffee house and lunch spot. Crooked Creek Winery - please look up for operating hours. Centralia has a very nice Recreational Complex. It features an indoor pool, basketball courts, gym, and walking track. Other: Yellin Hellen's - neat little ice cream place in Dix, IL. Aquatic Zoo - nice little pool/water park in Mt. Vernon, IL. Shawnee National Forest - if you have an extended stay, this gem is located about an hour and a half south. St. Louis, MO - nearest city with international airport. Approximately an hour and a half west. Guest access You will have access to the entire house and property. Exceptions include the detached garage and pole building. Other things to note The Pool is open from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Follow the wooded foot path to the boat dock. Please message us for arrangements if you plan to bring a boat.
