Welcome to our lil camper @ Peace Point, a truly peaceful spot next to 2 adjoining creeks with mountain views that create a point of land with the tranquil and meditative sounds of rushing water all around you. The creek contains native and stocked trout for which you are welcome to catch and eat! Located in the Tusquittee mountains of the Nantahala National Forest, our Proper-Ch'i is part of the awesomeness of the Blue Ridge. Read more below about our 100% off-grid solar powered get-away. This cute lil camper is OFF-GRID, so please read all the details in the sections below. It has 1 queen bed and 1 twin bed. There is a dining table, small bathroom with shower and composting toilet (no-flushing!), kitchenette with mini-fridge and stove top (no microwave), and storage above the twin bed for suitcases. We've got you covered with WiFi, linens, towels, a charcoal grill, eating/cooking ware, coffee, sugar, spices, plus a snack to get you through a late night arrival until you have a chance to make it to the nearby grocery that is only 5ish minutes away. There is NO A/C, but there IS SOLAR POWER with USB/car plug charging ports and there are 2 fans and an exhaust fan which keeps good air flow in the camper when all are turned on and keeps the camper cool at night for sleeping. Our most finicky guest (our grown daughter lol) and all others say they get their best sleep when here! The stovetop, water heater and the refrigerator are powered with propane. The water pumped into the camper comes from our rain water collection barrels with 240 gallon storage (It is NOT to be consumed by humans, however, we do have plenty of fresh spring water available for you to fill jugs that are provided). The composting toilet is lined with compostable bags (provided) which are to be tied tightly when full and placed in the bin next to the camper. The way a composting toilet works without odor is by having the urine separated from the solid matter. This is done in our composting toilet using a urine diverter which goes to an exterior container. This does require boys/men to sit to pee/urinate. Please do your best to keep your urine from entering the solids section of the toilet as this will stop odors from lingering. After having a bowel movement, you will sprinkle a cup of cedar shaving over the top of solids area to remove odor. There is also a ventilation fan directly in the toilet that can be used to help evacuate odors more quickly and also assist in the drying process of the solids. Guests have access to the camper pictured and the beautiful 'Peace Point' creek area directly across from the camper along with it's swings, hammocks, fire pit with plenty of firewood available, and water tubes for tubing down the creek. We also have a great little secluded spot to direct you to that is really great for taking a float in Lake Chatuge!!! If you choose to tube the creek, you get in at our place and it will take you to the Hiawassee River for a nice long float to a park where we are happy to pick you up if a day/time is arranged. Hi Peace Point Prospects :-) We are excited to show and share with you, our off grid living spaces, and would love to share our knowledge if you are interested in learning. However, if you prefer to just relax and enjoy, then we will just guide you on the basics of the camper and allow you all the peace and quiet you desire. Please note that there may be other guests staying in their personal RV's or travel trailers on our available 2 slots next to the camper. We also have 2 dogs present in our personal fenced area that may bark from time to time at person walking by. Hayesville, NC was voted in at 4th place in the nicest places in America! Our Peace Point Proper-chi is on a mountain residential road minutes from the town square. Direct access on site to the large, plentiful, and rushing Tusquitee creek with gorgeous mountain views both driving near by and on site. There is plenty to do including joining us for a boating adventure on Lake Chatuge! See our guidebook or ask us for ideas. Just a few of the many things to do: The center square of Hayesville has a 5 star restaurant, fantastic pizzeria, one of the 4 local brewery restaurants, interesting stores/antiques, plus the super cool Cherokee Homestead Exhibit and Clay County Historical & Arts Museum. Fires Creek recreation area is minutes away and has a waterfall, swimming hole, tubing and endless miles of hiking. Access to Lake Chatuge is also minutes away with public boat ramps, beaches, marinas with boat rentals, hiking and biking trails, golfing, and gorgeous views at Bell Mountain. You also have the option to join us for boating/fishing on the lake if you are visiting Friday through Sunday or pre-arrange it with us. There is just too much to list that is hidden here in this little gem of a town. Our property is amazing, however, it is not suitable for allowing children to run around unattended as there are steep drop offs to the rushing creek/river along with uneven terrain that is steep in some areas if you were to hike around the land.
