Luxury glamping on the Isle of Wight! Glamping The Wight Way have 4 spacious and well-equipped Safari lodges set within a pair of interlinking meadows - all with gorgeous river and countryside views. Each lodge comfortably sleeps 6 people, but they can sleep up to 8 with sofa bed. Although gently off grid, each lodge has hot water, log burner/oven, 1.5 bathrooms, solar-powered lighting in each room and USB charging points. Our lodges are the biggest on the island and have 2 flushing loos! The space *OUR GUESTS RECEIVE DISCOUNTED FERRY TRAVEL* Our glampsite is quiet, beautiful and close to everything you may need. Each lodge is the same layout. Tennyson safari lodge is situated on the right in the second meadow. We are gently off grid which means there's no mains electricity to our site. Each lodge has a solar panel system that powers the main lighting and the fridge. The solar box also has some USB sockets for charging phones etc. Our lodges have timber walls and canvas roofs. All rooms have timber walls dividing them. The bathrooms have timber doors and the bedrooms have curtains in the door ways for privacy. Living area A big open-plan, light-filled room with bifold doors onto the elevated deck. Our well-equipped kitchen is full of rustic charm. 85% of the wood used was sourced locally and the shelves & cupboards were created by local craftsman. Each kitchen has a gas-fired hob, fridge (with small freezer section), butler sink, large cool box, enamel tableware, melamine tumblers and heavy glassware. There are pots, pans, utensils and cutlery. The large cast iron wood burner is the heart of the lodge providing your heating and cooking oven. It has a large hot plate doubling up as a hob with the oven section has a deep shelf for two oven trays. It is so satisfying to keep it stoked and feel the glow of the fire. It has a generous hearth and fireguard too. Sleeping There are three bedrooms sleeping six people and a sofa bed in the living area for an extra 2 guests. The master bedroom has a king size bed, the second bedroom has twin beds and the third bedroom has adult size bunk beds. Bathing Although we're off grid, all of our lodges have an off-grid water boiler which means instant hot water! And, our lodges have two flushing loos! Enjoy the decadence of a roll-top slipper bath inside or an invigorating shower outside in an enclosed private decked area. The bathrooms are very spacious and we’ve fitted coat hooks & towel hooks so that there is a place for everything. We provide a starter kit including loo rolls, hand wash, shower gel, shampoo & conditioner. Outside The elevated deck offers sensational views of the River Yar. There are 2 lodges in each meadow, so there's plenty of space to run around. The deck has a small table and seating and there's a relaxing swing chair. On the grass, each lodge has a kadai fire bowl/BBQ with log seating and a picnic table. We also provide camp chairs for extra seating. Guest access Guests have the full private use of a safari lodge and will share a meadow with one other tent Other things to note We are a pet free glamping site so people can walk on the grass with confidence! We are a vehicle free site as well. Guests can use the layby for dropping off bags and the car park is a 2-3 min walk up a private lane. We provide wheel barrows for our guests to transport their bags etc to their lodge.
