Beautiful Lake District Cottage

Gibson Cottage is a charming 18th century one bedroom holiday cottage, ideal for a romantic break, and perfectly situated on the edge of the Lake District National Park. Easy to reach whether you are travelling North or South, Gibson Cottage is located just two miles from J40 on the M6 and the market town of Penrith, which is serviced by a main line train station. The Cottage is set off the beaten track where you will have the chance to enjoy some peace and quiet and relax! The space The Space Gibson Cottage was built in 1720 and has been recently refurbished and updated to provide a relaxing charming space in which to stay, whilst retaining many of the original features, including stone flagged floors throughout the ground floor and the original oak beams. The Cottage has full Wi FI access. The Kitchen. A new fully fitted shaker style kitchen, equipped with all the essentials you need, including a full-sized fridge, microwave, oven, a Nespresso coffee machine, a table and two chairs and a window seat to sit, relax, and sip your morning coffee whilst enjoying the warming comforts of the wonderful centrally located wood burner, which opens into both the lounge and the kitchen. The Lounge Enter through the barn style front door, into an inviting, cosy, lounge with a comfortable sofa and a classic armchair. Sit back and enjoy watching the Smart Sky Glass TV complete with Sky sports, and Netflix or simply relax whilst reading a book in front of the wood burner. The Bathroom There is a large, sophisticated bathroom on the ground floor just off the living room, relax and soak in a fabulous roll top bath after those long walks on the fells or enjoy the full-sized double walk-in shower. The bathroom is completed by a toilet and a handwash basin with a large vanity mirror with make-up light above. The Bedroom The one bedroom is accessed via a small flight of stairs from the living room, with an open plan aspect, and an impressive high vaulted ceiling with original beams. You will find its country style interior both warm and inviting with a tranquil feel. The room has a large double wardrobe, a chest of drawers, a king size bed with deluxe bedding, two bedside tables and lamps complete the cottage feel. The cottage is heated with radiators throughout and operated by a Nest for your convenience. A modern dual aspect wood burner provides additional heating to help create that perfect cosy background for the most relaxing stay. We will provide one basket of logs on arrival, the local village shop sells bags of wood and firelighters if needed. Please note there is no garden, but the cottage has a small space with a bench provided at the front of the property, for you to enjoy a cup of coffee or an early evening glass of wine. A short walk across the road will take you to the village pub and beer garden where you can enjoy excellent Cumbrian pub food. Transport Parking is not allowed outside the cottage as it is situated on a quiet private drive but there is plenty of safe parking available 20m from the property on the road and in the village itself. For those using EV there are two fast charging points at The Rheged visitor Centre, approximately 1.5 miles from Stainton. Guest access Guests will have full access to the cottage to enjoy at their leisure. Instructions for the key safe will be sent prior to arrival.
