Welcome to the farmhouse. Make your home for the night near the ocean & settle into peaceful quiet, in seclusion. Private beach. 15 min to acadia on schoodic and 45 min to acadia on MDI. Enjoy a fire on the beach in the evening, take in the vastness of the stars. Site is tucked in the woods overlooking Frenchman’s Bay at the end of a private drive. Near an unoccupied house.we live onsite, this campsite is private from surrounding dwellings. Use of 2 kayaks are included The space Site: in the *feild/lawn/woods* on the property of your choosing around a quiet old unoccupied **farmhouse** off a private swimmable stretch of beach and adjacent to trails on a nature preserve. This is a very private campsite with no one within earshot or eyesight, however we do live onsite. Here at this little oasis is both mowed grass and shaded woods. Fires! There is a firepit at the site by the picnic table. You may alternatively have a small campfire on the beach in the designated pit area. Or use your campstove or portable pit at your site up the hill. If you wish to cook over open fire please plan to bring your own portable grate, or request to borrow one from us. If you’re on the fence about whether to borrow our kayaks or bring your own, don’t be; The views of Frenchman‘s Bay from the water are not to be missed! We kayaks for $30/day; pls inquire about reserving them in advance if you are only staying for a short visit. Site has picnic table. Please pitch your tent in the mowed grass. This site is very large and can accommodate up to three tents and two vehicles. Wood: We have cut, split and dried camp wood available onsite (self carry and honor system pay), or bring your own wood purchased locally. Please do not bring wood from out of the county or state, unless it is big box store bought and kiln dried; as it can on rare occasion brings invasive pests to our area. Our wood can be paid for via cash or venmo, and is $6/bundle. Potty and hand washing sink is a short walk away, please plan to bring a solar shower, and use biodegradable soap only, or baby wipes, if necessary or dip in the ocean or nearby pond. Google a ride calendar, plan to swim at high Tide and bring waterproof sandals, or water shoes— maine beaches are cold and rocky, but very refreshing! This site is ideal for families with kids or groups larger than 2. If you are a party of 2 without kids we encourage you to “quiet Acadia woods”. Any small class b camper van/trailers/rig must be cleared with host in booking req; limit of 25 ft pls specify your type of vehicle when req to book. To read dozens of reviews for this campsites, our cabin and property— search the web for “starry night farmhouse hipcamp” Another disclosure: You are camping. There are bugs. You’re in the woods. There will be a small woodland creatures including porcupine (just a note for dog owners!). Maine has mosquitos, no-seeums, black flies, ticks, horseflies and fireants in the summer months and I can't control this. The mosquitos are really only bad just at dusk, and then they go to sleep. Pack good bug dope and smoke em out! Located ~30 minutes from Ellsworth, 15 minutes from Winter Harbor, 15 min from the Schoodic Peninsula of Acadia National Park, and 45 minutes from Acadia on Mount Desert Island/Bar Harbor. There are about 10 restaurants within a 15-20 minute drive, a gas station 5 minutes away, a small grocery store 15 min, and ferry to bar harbor and coin op laundry and showers 15 min in Winter Harbor. Guest access You’ll have full access to the entire property on foot aside from our private dwellings. Other things to note There is no power hook up, or portable water available at the site, please plan to bring your own drinking water. We can provide guest with a 2 to 5 gallon dispenser of well water per booking upon request, or refill empties provided we are not in a period of drought (when the water table and our well runs dry/low). Our goal is to provide a place for seekers of peace to gain a better relationship and appreciation with nature in a world that has forgotten the importance and connection we all have with the planet that sustains us. Our top priorities with hosting guests is keeping this land pristine and respected. Our mission to save our environment can only be accomplished with the active mindfulness of YOU! We are here to prove that people can change and that an alternative to traditional campgrounds can be an extremely magical benefit for the people that does not degrade the environment and break the peace that small towns still contain. Please keep your speed down while driving on our quiet neighborhood road and in our campground roads. Together we are here to be an example to others of what mindful camping can look like in this changing world. We love welcoming ALL people to our property and are happy to answer any questions about the area prior to trip. lf you request a meet and greet upon specified arrival time, I'll come say HI, or invite you over to my home ARRIVAL: pls aim and plan to ensure check-in before nightfall to avoid any confusion with finding site, parking, setting up camp and orienting yourself to the property and site.
