Bob's Lake is the perfect escape to relax, fish, hang with friends, or spend time with family. Our family cottage has comfy beds and a kitchen that is well-stocked by people who love to cook. The bay is always quiet and you'll love the view whether you are enjoying your coffee from the comfy sofa, sitting on the upper or lower decks, or relaxing in the hammock. The gazebo is a great place for older kids to camp out. Kayaks, a canoe, and an aluminum boat are available. The space The 3-bedroom cottage is open and comfortable with ceiling fans in every room. The large picture window and front deck offer beautiful views overlooking the lake. The couch can sleep an additional person and the lower Gazebo has camp-style sleeping areas. The dining table can comfortably seat 6 and can be opened to seat more. On the deck, there is a 6-person table and BBQ. The lower deck has a comfortable loveseat and 2 additional chairs. It's a family cottage so there are toys and games available for any age. While the cottage does not have air conditioning, it is sheltered by trees which keeps the temperature reasonable. Guest access Guests will have full access to the property including the cottage, gazebo and boat shed. The property is large and offers a grassy back lawn as well as a fire pit by the water. Maple Grove is a quiet cottage community on Bob's Lake. For the fisherman, this lake will not disappoint! Bob's lake is renowned internationally for offering some of the world's greatest fishing. It is a large lake with more than 120 islands and 740 km of shoreline. Walleye, bass, perch, pike, crappies, and all types of pan fish are in full abundance. Boat docking is available on our large dock (June to September). A free boat launch is available just 5 minutes down the road. We want you to enjoy your stay and ask that only registered guests are on the property for overnight stays. Parties will not be permitted. No tents, RV's or other types of temporary accommodations without prior approval. You are welcome to smoke outside the cottage. Some firewood is available but we cannot guarantee it's dry enough for use. 2 dogs maximum are allowed. No cats, please. A $200 cleaning fee will be charged for smoking or excessive pet hair cleanup. Other things to note Don't miss the fall colors! It's a short 12-minute drive to Sharbot Lake where there is a sweet public beach and Mike Dean's grocery. Or, get your java fix and try an ice cream stuffed donut (in the summer) at The Cardinal Cafe located in a renovated church. Advisable to check online for hours of operation. Pick up supplies at the Rexall Pharmacy, bank at the RBC, or take a country drive to soothe your sole. A few minutes along Rd. 38 brings you to Home Hardware and another mile further at Hwy 7 you will find an LCBO, Beer Store and 3 gas bars. The store at the Petro Canada is the quintessential year-round cottage stop where you'll find just about everything else you need to enjoy your time in the country. A further 25-minute easterly drive along Hwy 7 will find you in the picturesque town of Perth with all the amenities of a small city including No Frills, Canadian Tire, Dollarama, Starbucks, Dairy Queen, Timmies, home decor shops, and limestone pubs in the historical downtown area, as well as the areas newest micro-brewery Perth Brewery. The village of Westport is a 33-minute drive southeast of the cottage. With its lovely waterfront, a picnic is a must, as is a visit to The Cove restaurant where music events take place most nights. Cottage decor stores and a stop for the area's best butter tarts make it worth the drive. Scheuermann's Winery is the hot spot for an outdoor wood-fired pizza and an all-around great menu. For golf enthusiasts, there are many courses a short distance from the cottage including Rivendell Golf in Verona (20 min); Perth Golf (Canada's oldest continuous course - 1hr), and Evergreen & Rideau Lakes Golf courses (40 min) just outside of Westport. No trip is complete without a stop at Kilborne's On The Rideau in Newboro, 8 minutes from Westport, where you'll find everything from quality western boots and shoes, jewelry, and clothing to beautiful furniture and gourmet food items.
