Stanley House used as Doc Martin's nail bar, sleeps 6+dogs

Description

Stanley House is in the heart of the famous Cornish fishing village of Port Isaac. It was once a corn chandlers & for many years after it was a bakery. It was recently used in the final series of Doc Martin! The harbour & beach are a few seconds’ walk down Fore Street. There are a number of family-friendly pubs & restaurants in Port Isaac & neighbouring Port Gaverne, all within walking distance. The space Latest Review "Fantastic cottage!! Superbly situated and the added bonus of a dedicated parking space. The cottage has everything needed for a break away and instructions and useful information. Communication is fantastic and questions answered quickly. We will definitely not hesitate to book again" Since being a bakery the old shop has become the open plan living / dining area at the front of the building. There’s a long bench seat under the window to sit and watch the world go by. The lounge area has a large and comfortable sofa, shelves well stocked with books and board games, and a smart TV for family movie nights. At the back of this main downstairs area, there’s an open plan kitchen with modern facilities and a breakfast bar. Up a few steps on the upper ground floor, there’s a family bathroom and a double bedroom. There’s also a door here to the small enclosed courtyard – uses include hanging washing, drying beach kit and storing up to two large paddle boards! The steep staircase at the back of the house leads to the master bedroom. On the same level is a children’s bedroom with built in bunk beds. Guest access * 2 double bedrooms & 1 twin bunk room - sleeps 6 * Ground Floor - open plan kitchen with dining area & lounge * Upper Ground Floor - up steps from ground floor level - 1 x double bedroom and bathroom with shower, basin & WC. Access to a small, enclosed courtyard with artificial turf * Second Floor - up narrow, but enclosed, staircase from Upper Ground Floor - 1 double bedroom, 1 x children’s bedroom with built-in bunk beds * Kitchen - electric oven, grill & hob, fridge, slimline dishwasher, kettle, washing machine * Lounge - Smart TV, audio system * Courtyard - washing line & pegs (also useful for storing paddle boards) * Dedicated parking space at the top of the village - about 5 mins walk Other things to note The stairs to the first floor bedrooms are narrow and steep (as is in the nature of traditional cottages in Port Isaac). There are 13 steps to this level. Young children would need a stairgate to close off the top of the stairs (there is a stairgate at the property) and the steepness of the stairs would be a problem for anyone with mobility issues or for whom steep stairs present difficulty.
