Originally an old schoolhouse with attached head master's cottage, it retains many original features including beautiful stonework. It is located on a hilltop overlooking Castlerock, and only 2 miles from the majestic Mussenden Temple and superb Downhill beach. Robin's Rest is the perfect getaway from some R+R. Plenty of free off-street parking available. The space An authentic Irish cottage that is full of character with plenty of outside space. This historic cottage was the first building in the area dating back to the early 1800s (or possibly before). The more recently created sunroom has views to the rear garden to supervise children, watch the wildlife or watch the sun go down behind the forest beyond. Plenty of free parking with views to the sea from the front garden and driveway. Comfortable with plenty of space for relaxing or entertaining. NB. Although the building it attached, there are 2 sides of the building which are NOT linked by internal door. Total of 1 king-size bed, 1 double and 4 singles. "The Schoolhouse" side has the master bedroom with king-sized bed, master bathroom and main living room with 2 of the single beds on the mezzanine level. These single beds are therefore recommended for children aged 6-12 due to low head room. "The Cottage" (aka Rose Cottage) has a double bedroom and a twin room as well as the kitchen, dining room, sunroom and a smaller bathroom. Guest access You will have full access to the property comprising of 3 reception rooms, 3 bedrooms (with 1 additional sleeping area having 2 single beds for children on mezzanine level of living space), 2 bathrooms and kitchen. Separate doorway access to schoolhouse and cottage areas. Full access to gardens including private back garden with excellent sun in the afternoon (when it appears). A hammock, fire pit and barbecue are all available for use. Other things to note This property does not permit smoking or pets. Great region for water sports enthusiasts. Some sizes of wetsuits are available to borrow. Please ask if interested. Excellent location for ramblers, cyclists and nature lovers with easy access to walking / cycling routes, forests, spectacular beaches and the National Trust's majestic Mussenden Temple and Downhill House. Nearby golf courses include Castlerock Golf Club (2022 NI Open), Portstewart GC (2017 Irish Open) and Royal Portrush GC (2019 + 2025 Open Championship).
