Welcome to our cozy, over 100-year-old dike house on the idyllic Nieuwendammerdijk, a hidden gem in Amsterdam-Noord. A place full of character, loved by hikers and cyclists, where tranquility and urban energy go hand in hand: within 5 minutes you will find yourself in the bustling heart of the city. Within walking distance you will find amazing restaurants and cafes, and the Noord/Zuid line is just around the corner, so you are close to all the highlights of Amsterdam. The space Step inside our cozy dike house with a unique mix of African, Moroccan and Scandinavian influences. Through a cozy private garden, you enter a surprisingly stylish space, complete with a comfortable double bed, a cozy sitting area and a luxurious bathroom with bathtub and double rain shower – perfect for relaxing after a day in the city. The space is equipped with a minibar, kettle, crockery and fun family games. Families have also been thought of: the space is child-friendly and completely ready for small guests. Guest access Our dike house is located at the beginning of the charming Nieuwendammerdijk a popular route among hikers and cyclists because of the unique atmosphere and the picturesque street scene. Think: old cottages, bobbing boats, grazing sheep and of course the iconic café 't Sluisje around the corner. At the end of the dike, you can walk straight into the greenery: towards the Schellingwouderdijk and Durgerdam for endless water and nature, or into the city via the Noorderpark. With the Noorderpark and the Vliegenbos literally around the corner, it is wonderful to walk, especially with a fresh coffee from Sans at the park. Along the IJ, you will find a creative and culinary hotspot full of unique addresses within walking distance. Our favorites? Hangar, Chateau Amsterdam, Skatecafé, FC Hyena, Coba, Hotel de Goudfazant, Stork, Oedipus, Europizza… and we can go on for a while. But also the Eye Film Museum, Next Museum, Wondr Experience and so much more! The NDSM site is also close by – famous for the IJhallen, street art and countless hip places. Within 5 minutes you are at Amsterdam Central Station, and in 8 minutes in De Pijp. The Noord/Zuid line is just around the corner, as is the ferry for a nice crossing. Here you can easily stop at some well-known highlights such as: the Anne Frank museum, Van Gogh museum, the walls, etc. Other things to note The dike house is located at the beginning of the Nieuwendammerdijk and is easily accessible by both public transport and car. Within 5 minutes you can walk to the Noord/Zuid line, which will take you to Amsterdam Centraal or De Pijp in just 4 minutes. The ferry to the city center is also close; by bike you can reach it in 8 minutes, after which the crossing takes you directly to the heart of the city. Parking is available on the dike or on a small lot at the entrance to the property. Parking is paid from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and costs €1.60 per hour. The stay is offered as standard including towels, bedding and toilet paper. Smoking inside the accommodation is not allowed. For safety reasons, it is not allowed to use a raclette grill or a Pizzarette. In the immediate vicinity are several eateries, including De Pizzabakkers on the corner. Parties are not allowed. From 11 p.m. we ask guests to be considerate of the neighbors and not to play loud music. Are you traveling with children? Please let us know in advance. Upon request, we provide a crib with bedding, a baby bath, high chair and some toys. For children who no longer sleep in a crib, no extra sleeping accommodation is available.
