Description
Quiet A-frame on the side of the mountains at the base of the Great Smokies, overlooking Dick's creek. Home is secluded, however only 3 miles back to Great Smoky Mtn Exspressway. Within 15 minutes to Cherokee Indian Reservation(Harrah's) , Sylva and Dillsboro. And 20 minutes to WCU in Cullowhee. Within 25 minutes to Bryson City, Waynesville and Franklin. Lastly, within 60 minutes to Highlands, Gatlinburg, Asheville, Cataloochee Ranch and ski resort. Middle of it all. The space Built on the side of the mountain, this A-frame feels like it is sitting in the trees. The wall of windows allows you to see everything. It almost feels like your in a tree house. The home is a 3Bd 2Ba. The master has a king and is an open air loft that takes the entire upper floor and has its own suite. The 2nd and 3rd Bd is on the main floor. One has a queen and the other has daybed and twin sleeper. There is also an air mattress that can be used in any of the common spaces. As far as views from the home, in the fall and winter there will be short range views of the mountains. In the spring and summer, green foliage is all that will be viewed. As you approach the home, Dick's creek road will drop to single lane gravel road for about a 1.5 mile before you make it to the home. The gravel road can be washed with some ruts after heavy rains. Also, in the extremes of winter when there is heavy snow or ice some of these roads may have ice. A lot of the vehicles that access the home including mine are not 4 wheel drive. However, I have had guests that have recommended that especially if you are not use to driving mountain roads. Dicks Creek road is state maintained and will be cleared as there are full time residents living in this region. Guest access Guest will have the entire space to enjoy. I currently have a maintained hot tub on the big front deck. Other things to note Hurricane Helene update. Fortunately, we did not sustain damages from Hurricane Helene. We have all utilities and roads to the home are open. Our area was very fortunate. That said the blue ridge parkway is closed for now. Please reach out if you have specific questions about the property. Pets will be considered. There will just have to be some rules for the pets. Please no pets on the bedding and furniture. Please clean up the waste in common areas, so guests aren't stepping in/tracking waste into home or car. Internet is Fiberoptic and TV is provided by FUBO.
