Set within a private 150 acres, it provides the ideal setting for a countryside retreat. Conveniently located between the coastal towns of Whitby and Scarborough just a 15–20 minute drive and guests can also enjoy nearby woodland walks, with the nearest beach only 6 miles away. Robin Hood’s Bay is just 5 miles away. The space Wykeham Cottage – A Charming Country Retreat Nestled within the heart of a 150-acre private estate, Wykeham Cottage is a beautifully converted former cattle barn that blends rustic charm with modern comfort. Spacious yet cosy, this single-storey cottage comfortably sleeps up to five guests, making it the perfect countryside escape for families, couples, or small groups of friends. Step inside and discover original wooden beams, characterful features, and a warm, inviting atmosphere. The entire cottage is set on one level, making it accessible and suitable for guests of all ages. Accommodation: As you enter through the main door, a small hallway to the right leads to the sleeping quarters and bathroom: Bedroom 1: A generous master bedroom featuring a king-size bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside tables, and a dressing table with mirror. Bedroom 2: A twin bedroom with two single beds and room for an optional third (folding or sofa bed) ideal for children or extra guests. Bathroom: Spacious and modern, equipped with a full-size bath and overhead waterfall shower. All bed linen and bath towels are provided, with extras available on request. A travel cot or Next-to-Me crib and high chair can also be supplied for younger guests. Please request these if required. Living & Dining Area: Further down the hallway, you’ll find an open-plan kitchen and living space, designed for relaxing and socialising. A cosy lounge with a comfortable sofa, smart TV, free WiFi, and a south-facing window seat that catches the sun throughout the day. A dining area with table and chairs and a well-equipped kitchen featuring a gas oven and hob, microwave, Ninja air fryer, kettle, toaster, dishwasher, washer-dryer, and full cooking utensils. An iron and ironing board are also available. Heating is provided by an easy-to-use LPG gas fire and oil-fired central heating, ensuring a warm welcome all year round. We welcome up to 2-3 well behaved dogs. Outdoor Features: Just outside the front door, a sunny south-facing courtyard offers a patio with table and chairs (seasonal). Guests are free to explore the extensive shared gardens and farm grounds and meet the animals. A secure shared dog and child friendly paddock/play area with swings and a slide. Hot Tubs & Relaxation: Guests have access to two outdoor hot tubs, heated to a soothing 38°C and maintained daily for cleanliness and safety. The main hot tub is available year-round, while the second is open from May to September. These are shared between three cottages but are allocated via exclusive daily time slots or evening rotations with no extra charge. Use them as often as you like during your stay. Parking: Ample off-street parking is available right outside the cottage, with space for multiple vehicles. Guest access Self check-in via a key code which will be sent 48 hours before arrival along with any directions and contact information. Other things to note We have a few farm animals around the property (not directly near the cottages) including a small herd of pedigree highland cows, horses and some chickens (fresh eggs are available subject to time of year)
