Enjoy our fully renovated apartment in Schloss Gröbitz during the summer months. Experience the historic building, enjoy the culture in the region, visit cities such as Leipzig, Weimar and Dresden or relax in the quiet shady garden with swimming pool. Also ideal for a vacation with children! Schloss Gröbitz features four apartments. Each apartment has its own unique layout and is very complete and tastefully decorated with a mix of modern and classic elements. The space Apartment 16 is perhaps the most beautiful apartment in the Schloss, suitable for 2 people. You enter the apartment through the very spacious living room. In the GDR era, when the Schloss was still owned by the municipality, the general practitioner's office was located here. What is immediately striking is the decorated stucco ceiling from 1721 and the large double doors with (partly) original decorations. The three tall windows make it a delightfully bright space. The living room has a sitting area, a dining area and a fully equipped kitchenette, including a combination microwave and dishwasher. From the living room you go to the very spacious bedroom with a double bed (1.60 wide). If necessary, an extra (children's) bed can be placed here. En suite to the bedroom is the bathroom, with a shower with glass door, a toilet and a sink. The entire Schloss has been renovated in recent years. Since the summer of 2022, apartments have been rented for the first time, so everything is like new! When renovating, we have retained the original details as much as possible and worked with traditional, building-biological lime and chalk products. This means that each room has its own unique character and that there is a pleasant indoor climate. A lot of attention has been paid to the decor, with a mix of modern and classic elements. Guest access The apartment does not have its own garden, but you can freely use the communal garden and swimming pool. Garden chairs and a barbecue are available. The hall and the dining room on the ground floor can also be used freely. Furthermore, there is a municipal playground in front of the Schloss, which is ideal for children. Other things to note The first version of "Schloss Gröbitz", or actually the Herrenhaus des Ritterguts, or Gutshaus, dates back to 1512. You can see the stair tower and some walls and vaults on the ground floor. In 1721, the building was largely rebuilt in Baroque style and took its present form. After World War II, the Gutshaus was nationalized and fulfilled numerous functions for the community. In 2012, the property, which had been vacant for five years, came our way and we bought it with the aim of making it a nice place for vacations. The renovation and refurbishment took a long time. We did most of it ourselves, and of course we also had to deal with permits, regulations and monument preservation. But now the property is largely finished, and we are proud of the result, which we would like to share with our guests!
